Is it possible for me to connect my wii to the internet with dial-up just to download virtual console games and updates?

If you don't have it yet, you should soon. My parents live in a pretty rural area and they have 5mb broadband now.

Rogers (In Canada) offers coast to cost wireless high speed internet at a great price ($49.00/month) it might work outside the country as well. It's essentially a box you plug into the outlet, and you have wireless anywhere.

but you have to be in an area where they have support, so they can set you up with everything etc.
Just because it's satellite doesn't mean you can get it anywhere.
