They are most likely going to announce it in Japan since Nintendo is a japanese company so I'm betting the Tokyo Game Show on September 24. That could mean a japanese release in October and a November release in the U.S.

I believe I found out where nintendo might be doing thier big annoucement, whether its the release date or other information the Nintendo fusion tour kicks off on sept. 27 per nintendo.com, so it makes sense that the "Annual Fall Tour Showcases Hot Bands and Great Video Games." would have huge news for the Wii also.
