Apparently The Wii Will Have The Function To Make 2D or simple 3D games that can be uploaded through WiiConnect 24 for the whole world to try!!

I thought that you need the Wii Software Development Kit (SDK) which will sell for under US$2000. Hopefully Nintendo will release a free and simplified version for the average Wii User to be able to make their own games

I can make pretty good games w/ gamemaker. Although this will be very different, I might no a couple of tricks ahead of time...gotta practice on gamemaker 24/7!

Ive always wanted to make a simple 2d rpg game, nothing visually amazing, just like oldschool graphics. That would be cool. SSB, is it possible to do that w/ gamemaker?

I have seen the source (although, I don't remember where it was). The other details in the article seemed preatyy sketchy, but I do agree. Game creation is very dificult and very complicated. Even using a very basic game builder it is very complicated. 3D increases the complexity exponentially.

^^I have used klick and play, this is what I would refer to as a "basic game builder"

If there is a simple basic game builder we probaly would have to use templates from specific game genres and we just work from there.

I think if the dev kit is on the Wii then 3d would actually be easier since you could use the nunchuk to turn the screen and the controller could actually move the polygons in 3d instead of moveing on 2 axis at once then changing to yet another view to adjust, then going back to fine tune again.
