when u get knocked down in boxing does pressing buttons real quick help u get up or does the computer just deside if u stay down or get up??

I usually press the buttons really fast but I dont know if that really works!!

i dont see how someone could get knocked down by the computer in boxing...i've never been knocked down...nor have i lost a match but i am still nooby so i guess loosing is yet to come
