Actually, the sarcasm is so blatantly obvious that it was easily interpreted. It wouldn't take a genius to figure out he was being sarcastic by questioning who would win in a running/speed competition, when CLEARLY anybody on a video game message board is going to know the answer would be Sonic.

Secondly, just FYI, I don't even have to look up sarcasm in the dictionary to know it has nothing to do with the voice. It's the way a message is delivered or comes across, regardless of whether it's vocally or not.
