As far as first person shooter type games go here's what is good.

Resident Evil 4 - Very good quality game. One of the best on the wii. I never played any resident evil game before this one, but I must say it is very fun. The controls aren't the best the wii has to offer, but they are still very good. Your husband will love it. An added perk is that this is only $30. I'd highly recommend getting this one unless your husband is looking to play something online in which case I'd suggest Medal of Honor.

Metroid Prime 3 - One of the best games on the wii. The motion controls are spot on and the graphics and gameplay are amazing. I find it to be a little tedious though and even though I think its a great game I've only gotten like 1/3 of the way through the game.

Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 - If you're looking for a good online first person shooter this is the game you want. I haven't played this one but everyone says the online is fun. The controls are supposed to be better than metroid due to options for customization (which is surprising because metroid's controls are really great).

Other Suggestions:

You should also look into Mario Kart as it is a must have for any wii owner. Great online play, it is simply a barrel full of fun that both of you can enjoy together. A couple more quality games worth mentioning are Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy.

Thanks for the info, Skorp! I'll be checking out RE:4 and Metroid for sure. Online playing isn't a factor (yet anyway, I want WiiWare!) and I've read some bad reviews for MOH so we'll try renting that one first.

What do you guys think of No More Heroes? That looks right up his alley.

SSBB and MKW are on our wish list, we usually wait for game prices to go down a bit. Although I don't know if I can wait for SSBB! I'm sure we'll be getting the second Trauma Center game too since I'm so addicted to the first one.

I promise you won't be disappointed by investing $50 in mario kart. It is worth every penny, I'd pay $60 for it easily.

SSBB is a great game, it offers a ton of things to do and trophies to collect and such. That said I don't really have roommates who play with me so its not as fun as the N64 days when it was fresh. The online is iffy and riddled with problems + lack of features. Either way I still think you will be happier getting mario kart first unless you're a die hard smash bros fan. There are a handful of people who got smash bros and were disappointed, of course there was a massive amount who love it too though.

No More Heroes is a hack and slash type game. You start as the 11th best assassin in the world and you're trying to kill the 10 assassins who are better than you to capture the title of #1. You have to do odd jobs and murder missions to collect money so that you can pay the fee to challenge each assassin. I think I'm ranked 6th or 7th right now, the ranked battles are the best part of the game but the other stuff is kind of tedious and not as great.

There are people who love the game and people who hate it. The game itself is unique in its art and presentation but its simply not as high quality as other games that are available for the wii. Mostly its alot of button mashing. I'd definitely say rent it before buying it if you can. The prices on it are dropping now though so make sure you don't spend more than $30 on it if you end up deciding its for you. (amazon has it for $30 currently)

Also, if you like Single Player Adventure Games, get Super Mario Galaxy.

I actually hate MOH:H2 and Mario Kart Wii. Well, MK is sort of ok, but SUCH a let down. The racing if not bad at all, but the battle mode is HORRIBLE. It has been completely ruined. I was praying for a return to the old N64 days of battle mode where you could be the bomb after you were knocked out, but no luck. And it was even further ruined way beyond my wildest dreams. You can only team battle, and if you don't play online you still get stuck with a bunch of computer A.I. characters. No more 1 vs. 1 vs. 1 vs. 1. The online is pretty crappy too. When you lose your balloons you just start over again with 3 more balloons. What's even the point of having 3 balloons to begin with? I'm sticking Mario Kart 64.

Okami is amazing though, and Metroid Prime 3 is one of the best games ever made (the whole Metroid franchise, actually). Resident Evil 4 is much improved on the wii too, even above the greatness it already was on the 'cube. I don't figure I even need to mention Mario Galaxy.

Sin and Punishment is a cool VC game. Most people haven't played that one since it's an import.

I agree the battle mode isn't that great, but for racing MK is really fun. I've played probably 99% races so far. The enjoyment from racing somewhat makes up for the let down that is the battle mode.

Although I played a 2v2 battle a couple times today and that was really fun. It gets way too chaotic and not as fun when theres more people. Good thing racing is the bee's knees.

Well SSBB (Super Smash Brothers Brawl) is multiplayer and online, and so is Mario Kart..

Those are the best multiplayer game out there. It has online but you don't have to use it.

How many do you want playing with you? And are you looking for full games or minigames/party games? If you want the latter there's tons to choose from, I'm a fan of the Raving Rabbids. SSBB has 4 person multiplayer, not just online multiplayer. A more unique multiplayer full game is Trauma Center: New Blood, where you do surgeries with the remote. It has a 2 player co-op mode.

There's also mario party 8 for multiplayer.

Yeah Mario Party is just a bunch of mini-games.

I was actually lookin in the region of fighting/shooting games where i can kick my mates ass The one i played recently was dragonball z tenkaichi 2 and it was a huge let down (the screen split in half during duel)

The game you're looking for is super smash brothers brawl. If you want a multiplayer fighting game that won't let you down.
