There's 5 (7 counting the arcade ) versions of Mario Kart to date. And almost all of them were delayed in some way, shape, or form. (Link)

I don't know where you got that there were only 2..

I was at gamestop 2 days ago and they asked if I wanted to put money down on the new MARIO KART plus steering wheel. They didnt say exactly when it was coming out though. Im excited!
