it doesnt look as good as anticipated, but halo 3 didnt either IMO. even brawl wasnt close to what i expected. but were those 2 fun games? of course. as will mariokart

Well Nintendo Power gave it a 9 which is a good enough sign for me to buy it. It might not be the best of the series so far, but it will definitly be a must have game.

As long as it's better than Double Dash. I have enough faith in Nintendo to get this game. However I'm a stubborn person. If this game blows I'll be more cautious in the future. I'm overall willing to take a gamble on this game. Brawl is proving to be a ton of fun, even with it's gimped online mode.

I'm going to wait and see what some trusted, unbiased reviewers say about Mario Kart Wii before making the purchase.
While the online play may have more features than Brawl, I still don't think we can expect a complete lag-free experience. As for graphics, they look decent, but definitely nothing to get worked up over.

Although I really believe it - I had the 'pleasure' of playing Gran Turismo Prologue on ps3 and the graphics are *amazing*, but the game is awful - bad handling, no sense of excitement and boring gameplay. It's like they decided to make something that looked great but forgot to put a game in there.
I can handle something that doesn't look photo-realistic as long as it's fun - Mario Kart looks like it has bucket loads of fun...

I never said that graphics were the only factor that makes up a good game. I know (being a past Double Dash owner) that Mario Kart is focused around gameplay, not graphics. The only reason I have a complaint is because Nintendo could have pushed the Wii's potential for the game a little more (graphically speaking).

I know, it wasn't a dig at you, I was just saying that as someone had said it looked like it would be a disappointing game because the graphics were "poor"... It could have the best graphics ever and that wouldn't mean it would be any fun to play...
It would be nice if they push the wii a bit more (like the first time you saw Zelda or SMG and you thought 'yeah, the Wii CAN do good gfx!)
I think we've only seen a few lo-rez videos, and some still screenshots... it will still more than likely look a lot better running at 60fps on our tv's.
Hello, Ive had wii since xmas, and i just found out about online, but i woud like to know, how u can chat online on wii, and is wii sports online??
nah wii sports isn't online and the games that let u chat online, you have to have there friend code to do it. u can send emails to other wiis and computers but they have to agree to it.and ofcourse u can use chat rooms on websites.
It's mario kart and it actually does look better. Seriously I played a lot of double dash and this does look better. Why alert people to some thing they can see?
Plus too don't confuse your self with the retro tracks it's a mix between retro and new which is going to be weird but as soon as I play the ghost race again then I may have some thing to say.
Seriously go and play the old one again and get back to me on that one.
I still don't think we can expect a complete lag-free experience.
If you have ever had a completely lag-free experience 24/7 with ANY game, then I want the internet you have.

Well the whole point of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is to make a REALISTIC game. You're comparing Gran Turismo to Mario Kart. They're way different from each other.
