It got a solid 8.9 at IGN UK, with them saying "this is proper Mario Kart, and it's Mario Kart done right". So not looking or sounding disappointing at all, can't wait until it's out here.

i thought the wii was all about family entertainment.me and my 3 kids have been having a ball all day with MK.if u want good graphics and reality go and play an xbox the wii rocks

Yes. And it works really well.
Imagine the scene .. .. .. you and a few mates are gathered in one room playing MK, MK64, MKDS balloon battle .. .. .. what happens when you are out? You verbally abuse the other players who are still in? Me too.
12 player online .. .. .. .. watching 2 strangers play cat and mouse for 10 minutes while you wait to start the game again isn't much fun.. .. .. keep everyone playing so that they are all enjoying it.. .. ..

Well, the new balloon battle concept works just fine online but it's kind of pointless offline. When I play offline I want it to be the original concept and not have 10 AI controlled racers. Of course, online there are no AI racers so it's incredibly fun. After playing this game for a while I can say that Mario Kart Wii is easily the most entertaining game on Wii* and the best in the series.
*Brawl isn't out here yet for another couple of months so it might beat Kart, but I doubt it.

I am slightly disapointed in MK, not because of the graphics as I knew they would look like this and to be honest I don't think it would have worked if they were more detailed. the game play is really good and I'm surprised at how fast the game moves! The thing that does disapoint me is that you can't view an overall online ranking like you can on MoH, or if you can I'm yet to find out where it is!

has i live in the uk mario kart came out on 11t april which is when i got mine and to say it is amazing the online is lag free and the bike gives mario kart a whole new dimension in playing

as previously described elsewhere - The wife and me love MK, its honestly the most fun racing game I have ever played. I havent seen any lag at all online, the graphics are very very pretty and the game play is fantastic. Top marks! Oh and the wheel is great!

Whoever said anything about 1v1 online?
What ever happened to enjoying FFA on pipe plaza in Double Dash?
Or better yet, a 6-8 man Rumble Pit type setting.
