Are there any Japanese Wii games tha can be played on U.S. Wiis? Where can I find more info about this?

Come to think of it, does Nintendo even lock the Wii for
each region?(US, Asia, EU, Japan, for example)

All the Wii's are region locked, there was a heavy rumor being pushed around that it had been region free, but Nintendo had cleared up that rumor with an interview. Only region free systems happen to be the handheld.
