I think it is only when you play the minigame. In the minigames, Ronaldinho is a Mii!

MLB Power Pros
PES 2008
These both allow you to load your Mii and play with them. MLB Power Pros has this in a different mode, while PES 2008 has full Mii integration, including the ability to form teams with Miis.
