Well, if the Wii's life cycle only lasts till 2010/11 as I believe Miyamoto said (or some head honcho at Nintendo), there's really no point in even bothering to release an external hardrive IMO. There isn't going to be any of the huge games like Metroid, Mario, Smash Bros., and Zelda is iffy. Why release one for a bunch of lesser games? I doubt that doing such would persuade huge developers to make a version of their title on the Wii, so I can't see any purpose in releasing a hardrive.

I realize they have a few more titles that they said they would release (have they even guaranteed Star Fox?), but how much depth can there be in Mario Tennis and the rest of the Mario sports? I also doubt that they started working on Star Fox, DK, etc. making it look amazing and extremely intricate with incredible gameplay, banking on the fact that a hard drive would be released in the future. So, if the Star Fox/DK games are going to be like TP or Galaxy (which took up somewhere around 2 MBs) in terms of graphics and depth, why need it? It would take about 200 more of those games to fill up all the memory the Wii can hold. I can see where VC gamers might find it handy, but making such an expensive product and mass-producing it just for a very few people doesn't seem like it's worth it IMO.

Y'know, it will sell. I can guarantee it. WiiWare, VC, Game memory, DLC, media storage etc.

Just as a curiosity, how much do the DLC songs for Rock Band cost on the 360 and the PS3?

I would buy an external hardrive for the wii. Not like I really need it, but it might come in handy. It would be a smart move from Nintendo. It's all about the money right? Ok then, Nintendo, make an external hardrive.
