No, it's really entirely fair. But I do like using the Gamecube controller, not that crazy about the others for performing tricks and stuff. I probably haven't done a lot of the shrotcuts, but I know of a couple of them, and a lot of them are very risky.
And I know on some cc's I will drive off the edge if you do a trick, like the first turn of Rainbow Road. =/
I can't believe I got 11 losses and like -187632783 for disconnecting and it really wasn't my fault.
I have raced Celestial, the first one was Peach Beach and a BLUE SHELL SMITED ME at the end so he just picked me, but I owned at the second track, can't remember what it was though. xD
I guess that's good though really, it puts more emphasis on general driving ability, although it isn't really too hard. Well, of course the utilisation of drifts and tricks play a big part, but other than that the fairness is welcomed!
I haven't used the Gamecube controller. I find the Wiimote plus Nunchuck combination pretty good, even for tricks. I haven't taken many short-cuts either, I haven't noticed anyone really. They are risky though as they're all off-road, so if you mess up you're hammered. The first time I raced Rainbow Road (it cost me my Star Grade, luckily it was actually in single player though) I just got smashed. The track itself messed my head! But I got to know which tricks to take and things for when the annoying people select that online.
Another question: Is the overall grade related to online as well? Or just single player?
