Man, this game had such great potential for the wii but it ends up they really don't care too much for the wii's control. What would be great is a wii specific starwars game which has 1:1 lightsaber control and other motion control force pushes and such. Which is what I thought this game was going to be at first....

I'm probably not even gonna pick up this game now that I think about it. Battlefield: Bad Company is gonna waste my entire Summer.

Duel or dual? They have two completely different meanings, and I wouldn't want myself or any other to be misinformed.

1:1 motion control would require you to have the same level of sword skill as a jedi to play it. Do you honestly have that level of skill?

The basic force pushes are motion controlled by the nunchuck, the analogue stick is only used for precisely moving objects.

Duel. You can fight against another player. Far as I am aware there is no co-operative play (which would be dual).

Not necessarily, they could make it so it wouldn't cut off your own arms and legs and such. But I see where your going though I guess, they couldn't really make it too intense of a game if it was 1:1 because it would either be way too difficult. Although a 1 on 1 light saber dual would be awesome with 1:1 control.

I guess its not that bad then, I just hope the sword control isn't as broken as Zelda's where it rarely even followed the direction you swung the remote in.

I think they are making it with directional motion Wiimote lightsaber controls and basic force push nunchuck motions to keep the controls as tight as possible. The lightsaber Wiimote directions are supposed to be very accurate and flow together very well so i don't think it will seem as basic as Zelda.

In an ideal world we'd all like 1:1 motions for everything but realistically it wouldn't be possible. I think Krome will deliver the next best thing though and i cant wait to be swinging my Wiimote around and thrusting my nunchuck as enemies go flying.

If you immediately disregard this game simply because motion controls aren't what YOU wanted, you're a moron.

The rest of the review speaks VERY highly of the Wii version. It really sounds like a great game.

Furthermore, no, the PS2 and Wii versions are NOT graphically identical. They stated a handful of times that the Wii version has better physics and more impressive graphical effects.

I, for one, hate when games overdo motion control. Less is more sometimes, gents.

Still plan on buying this.

No one is immediately good at a new game - that's why people learn. I wouldn't mind getting into a game and learning its controls, practicing to get good, etc, if I knew that eventually it would become something deeper. Just having six or eight or whatever standard motions for swining the Wii remote is just as boring and tedious as having six or eight button combinations on a normal controller. It's a novelty unless the game actually uses motion sensing. We've already got enough of the novelty sort of controls in almost every sword-wielding game on the Wii so far. It doesn't have to be 1:1 control, or there could be an option for it. I guess you think it's not alright for that to happen because obviously, the Wii was not made for actual motion control and gamers don't actually bother to practice their skills and get good.

Good for you.

However, of course I am going to disregard something that does not have what I wanted. Are you seriously that dense? Do you spend money on things that you don't actually want or need?

This is idiotic.

You wanted motion controls, great.

Luckily for all of US, you don't make games, so therefore, you don't have any idea what it takes to make a game highly enjoyable, highly playable, and (relatively) easy to pick up.

The developers of Force Unleashed obviously knew that if they overdid motion controls, people would find it gimmicky and obnoxious. (Evidence: the 64,345 games currently out that overdid it, and that people found gimmicky and obnoxious.)

Your slander of a game because of it not including your (moronic) requirement for overdone motion controls is stupid. The controls will be well-done, whether you end up admitting it or not.

What's equally moronic is speculation on the controls to a game which you have never played.

1:1 control would require either some kind of restriction or really generous collision detection to avoid it being too unaccessable. Ideally we'd get a game with 1:1 that could be tuned from requiring vague swipes in a general direction or to the extent of having to do exact movements. Force Unleashed was announced later for the Wii than it was the other versions though, so it's possible that Krome did not have enough time to perfect such a complicated control system and Wii controls are often tacked on as a novelty so it's better that they are using a control system that actually works (according to the preview) rather than doing something that is a nice gimmick but makes the game play poorly (Lair's 6-axis controls for example).

Force Unleashed's directional control looks like it is the next best thing and if the directions flow together smoothly and it is fun to play (and the preview seems to say that they do and it is) then it seems foolish to write the game off so quickly.

How is this not a ground breaking game?...For 360 and PS3, Euphoria or DMM anyone?

Also restrictions to 1:1 use of a sabre, wouldn't be considered as 1:1...Plus, behind the back and things of that nature would get too out of hand.

Whatever your precious opinion on the motion controls (or lack thereof) in this game, it still doesn't negate the fact that I for one have decided not to bother with the game because of this.

In addition to that, I'd like to point out that not once have I actually 'slandered' or said anything negative about this game you hold so dearly (get a life?), as can be evidenced by glancing through my previous posts in this thread. At most, I had agreed to the opinion that I myself was not originally impressed - my own opinion - with the game, and that now, with a lack of controls that I had hoped to see, I would no longer be interested in it.

You, on the other hand, have called people that write off this game for their own reasons 'morons, 'idiotic', and have generally held an entirely unconstructive tone. It's just a game. You don't have to run around on an online forum calling people names because they don't agree with you (again, get a life?).

Furthermore, I never once said the game would have poor or inadequate controls, I'm simply not planning on spending the $50 required to purchase the game. Just because a game may be well-designed, well-made, and overall a great game does not, in any way, make people who decide not to buy it 'idiots' or 'morons'. If you insist on that being true, however, then I will call you an idiot as well, because I'm sure there are plenty of great games out there that you don't own.

Lastly, I'd also like to recommend you to look up the meaning of slander: a malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report. The game hasn't even been released, so at this point, we don't know what is true, so you obviously can't claim anything is false; thus, slander can't logically exist in this context.

Oh, and as a final note, do you actually spend money on things that you don't want or need? I asked that in an earlier post and you never answered. =(
