Well sometimes it's actually faster than your real internet.

It's pretty good if you can't be bothered getting off the sofa and just want to use the internet quickly. If you do get it, you're best getting a USB keyboard as well because typing adresses with the remote takes ages.

If you know you're going to use it, then yea, download it.
But if you are just downloading it for the hell of it, don't download it.
I'm just glad I nabbed it when it was free.

Same situation here.
Anyway, if you have a functional computer with an internet browser, then there's no point in buying it.

I challenge you to explain how this is technically possible, considering that the Wii uses your "real internet" connection.
If you have a 768Kbit DSL line, you're not going to magically get a 44Mbit T3 while using your Wii on it.
Now, if you're saying that Opera on the Wii can be faster than Internet Explorer on Windows, I'll give you that. Doesn't take much, after all. There are plenty of browsers faster than IE you can install that don't require buying a Wii. However, web browsers aren't "the internet".
Even if you get a USB keyboard for your Wii, it's going to be a bit cumbersome, especially using the remote as a "mouse". And the resolution is nowhere near comparable to what you have your computer monitor set to. As a result, the Internet Channel is a novelty. If you have $5 to blow, it can be cool to pop in from time to time. I don't use it seriously though.
The only people I know who do is a family that has more kids than computers, so it gives them an extra station that one can get "online" from.

Yeah I quite like it. Youtube videos on the big screen is pretty neat.
I got my Wii after it was free so I had to pay 500 points, but its worth it in my opinion.

It's a great buffer for those times my computer is rendering. I got mine for free. With the recent improvements it's a very solid browser. For those of you who missed the free download window, I pity you. The browser can also use MSN and AIM if you know the right website.

I got mine originally during the free debut of it. I wouldn't pay for it, and have since moved it to a SD card incase I ever want to use it again. It took up to much space, and I have since got an EEE PC which is much handier for easy surfing from wherever.
It works alright. All depends on what you need to do with it.
