Ok been on this on and off all day.

Have to say it is not a game, but saying that it has kept me wanting to try all the different "fitness plans".

When you first turn on the wii and board it tells you about the reason why nintendo created Wii Fit and what it can do for you.

After this you need to enter all your personall details, e.g. height, age and then it calculates your BMI and weight. I was not happy with my results let me tell you

There are 4 different modes, Muscle, Yoga, Balance and aerobics. For me I dont think I will ever do the Yoga!

You only start off with several of the tasks for each mode but after collecting fit cash (Points for the amount of minutes you are on the board for) these are added.

The jogging is good but only because I have gone on to the running machine and watched the wii mii run around the track, if I was to have to run on the spot I dont think I would like it.

All together I think this has been a good investment for my self as usually I would get bored of doing exercise. This will keep me entertained and wanting to improve on the tasks I have been set.

Doh!

I pre-ordered from Comet and don't get my Wii Fit until some time tomorrow. BTW it said on the Comet website "Free delivery" but it was only free if i waited two weeks. I had to pay a tenner for Saturday delivery and had no option for delivery today (Friday).

I've clocked up over an hour in the various exercises tonight, it's all laid out very well, it's a nice gradual learning curve to the harder exercises...

I was attrocious at the push ups though!! Mind you, at least then I'll be able to see if there's any sort of improvement!

Out of all the games I think I liked the jogging and extreme hula hooping best - after either you're definitely aware you've been exercising, but it's fun whilst you're doing it!

I can see it definitely working to motivate people to exercise more, but I'm not 100% convinced you won't get bored doing the same (admittedly large range) of exercises every day... I know there are rumours of downloadable exercises but that looks pretty unlikely.

I'm just going to try and bring my Wii Fit age down

Lucky for me my BMI was just in the "ideal" range (bit of a shock!) but I'm now working to a goal BMI and weight, so it will be nice to see how Wii Fit tracks this...

Definitely worth getting, I just hope it's got longevity.

Are the games on it to stop you getting bored?.

Turned my Wii Fit on for the first time yesterday and went through the part where it asks you for your hight and date of birth and then did the start up balance part only to have it tell me that my Wii Fit age is 58. Doh!

Anyway you can't get to all the mini games and such on the Wii Fit to start with and you get more games the more you use it and the better you get at the games you do play.

I wasn't much good at the soccer heading game or the game with the plate with a hole in it where you have to get the ball in the hole.

I was very good at the Ski jumping and the down hill Skiing. I think i liked the tightrope walking best though. Those winds, pigeons & feathers can make life tough.

I also had a few goes at the Yoga and found that it looks a lot easier than it is. I think i'll be spending more time on the Yoga though. Its a great way to test your flexibility.

All in all Wii Fit is a fantastic piece of kit and well worth the money.

Does anyone want to post any scores for the mini games ?

I completed the one where you get the balls through the holes - I escaped by completing them all before the time run out!

I think the games are to stop you getting bored, but they also make you work out even though you don't realise it - for instance the hula hoops and Super hula hoops are actually quite tiring, and if you are playing more than a couple of times a day (say you're trying to beat someone's high score), you WILL feel it in your stomach muscles the next day! This is pretty damn clever of Wii Fit as you're working out without realising it...

I've clocked up about 2.5 hours in 3 days so I've unlocked most of the activities, and there is enough variety in there to keep most people happy, but I think there are a handful of stuff that are my "favourites" and that I'd do every day as part of my "exercise regime".

The Distance jogging is HARD - it's a whole lap of the island!

How is the Skiing? Does the difficulty increase or is it the same slalom/jump each time and you just improve your score/time. how many levels of difficulty are there for the 4 categories? Any details that were not really released prior the launch? thanks

I think it depends on the activity / game.

In the exercises (such as press ups or stretches or whatever), the more times you complete them (and with good scores) then you unlock more reps (repetitions) of that exercise. You can also unlock "challenge" modes on some of the exercises so you go against your trainer.

On the games, I've only unlocked 'advanced' on the skii / jump / boarding games, so there might be another difficulty level after that I'm not sure. The standard skii game is quite short, but with a few hard turns (the course is straight but you need to weave to get the flags and it's quite hard to get the angle right for the next flag if you start to mess up halfway down!)

The advanced skii is a longer course with the flags postitioned further apart which means more leaning! And you have to lean forwards to get more speed.

You can also try and beat your score by completing the course faster and with less missed flags so it's quite a good challenge (you lean forwards to go faster, but then obviously it's hard to make the turns for the flags, which is where you need to be a good skiier obviously! - I'm not!)

The snowboarding game works well, but it's quite hard as you often over-lean to try and get round a flag which puts you off balance for leaning into the next turn! I suppose that's where the "training" will pay off and your balance improves you'll get better.

The hula-hoop game unlocks a super-hula-hoop which is knackering! You have to do 2 rounds of hula-hooping, first rotating one direction, then the 2nd round rotating the other. It's actually tiring and fun! I think I unlocked another mode so that the rounds lasted longer but it might have been on a different game.

Definitely get it for the 'fun exercising', but don't get it if you only want to play games with it - you'll not appreciate the main bulk of the content in Wii Fit and get bored pretty quickly.

Having said that, I'm still enjoying it and I'd recommend it to others.

Yeah, definitely! Even more so if it's by Nintendo...

I think I just trust Ninty to do a more "thorough" job of it - as soon as you boot Wii Fit and you hear the same remote sounds as on Wii Sports you know it's going to be good.

I'm interested in Wii Fit but I'm not gonna buy it until I've had a go.. I'm too concerned that it might be easy to trick it into thinking I'm being terribly energetic :P That and like other things I've spent money on in the past to keep healthy I expect I'll get into it for a week or so then start to loose interest in favour of sitting down and eating pizza ;-)

Hmm... pizza...

I really hope some games turn up that take advantage of the board... Time Crisis seems like an obvious one

You could trick it in to thinking your better than you are with some of the activities, but what's the point in that.

Spoiler Alert!
