A source close to Nintendo (as always) has reported a few hints about the next zelda game. Because of obvious reasons, I can not post the Url where he/she has informed some about his findings, I have therefore posted the most relevant link to this subject.
1. The next zelda game will be released on the Wii console, not onto the next Nintendo machine, as to avoid confusion problems had with Twilight Princess (Gamecube and Wii).
2. In an interview with Eiji Aonuma, he was asked if Midna would return and he replied, 'I don’t see her making a reappearance, but who knows? If we hear enough voices for her to come back, how can we not?' Midna being a very popular character, has clearly shown that she has a huge fanbase. Our source says that she will be returning as a main character (not as main as in Twilight Princess) but adds a very interesting twist and a new flavor to the zelda series never before seen in other installments.
I will try my best to squeeze more out of him and update here, but in the mean time, enjoy!

Sure nothing too groundbreaking, I figured Wii would get another Zelda. Gamecube had two and so did N64. And Midna not coming back..well thats not too bad. I see her coming back later on down the road perhaps, who knows. Hopefully more details emerge within the next couple of days/weeks.

Midna was a pretty cool character.
I'm all for another Zelda game on the Wii, but with better graphics this time hopefully.
As I've said a million times though i want f-zero first, I haven't played an f-zero game 4 4 ever.

NO MORE MIDNA
she was a good character in twilight princess, but I wouldn't like to see her in any zeldas unless it's a sequel to twilight princess(like oot and mm)
just like i wouldn't want to see rosalina in any (main) mario games,
zelda games have a hard time being different than zelda games as it is, bringing other characters just will make the next zelda game that less unique

I think it would be cool midna could just pop outta nowhere from the twilight place and be like WAAAZAAA! I'm back and now I'm not an ugly midgit.
And then she could help you jump places like in tp, or use her magicyness to move stuff.

I want a darker, more mature Zelda game. Now, I don't mean blood and guts things; I don't care about that. But a darker story with more epic boss battles (ala Shadow of Colossus) would be great. Something with a different progression (other then I start with nothing, get my shield, now I get my sword...yay...then the boomerang, etc.) would be welcome as well. Apparently IGN agrees (as stated in their podcasts).

I definitely agree with that.
Most zelda games have been the exact same concept, I think it is time for change.

The only thing I ask of the next Zelda title is for it to have difficulty levels(The highest one being like, Brawl on Intense mode challenging), Twilight Princess was a baby's game, I didn't die once even with the three hearts challenge.

Well. ALL dark would stray alot of people from the game.
But a balance. Balance is good.
You have your more serious moments, and then the lighter ones.
That'd please the audience whose inner child has died.
Then you got the lighter moments. Where you can feel a little happy.
That'd please the audience who has an inner child

Not everyone is a fantastic games player and making the next Zelda a lot harder will stop a lot of people from being able to play it. If some people want it harder then it would be better if i had difficulty levels.

-Another Zelda game would be great!
-Difficulty levels would be nice but unlikely.
-TP was a lot darker than past Zelda titles, I mean how Zant turned all human/animal kind into twilight beings and make them live in a terrible new world (if you don't agree then look at Hyrule Castle when you first went as a wolf)
-What I want would be if once you beat the game (killed Ganon or the final boss) you would be able to play a second mission. Kind of like the NES Zelda but more exciting.
-Does anyone know when it will come out?
TP came out in 2006 and that was 3 years after Wind Waker so I would wager a guess on the next Zelda game willcome out in 2009 or early 2010...
