I myself prefer the GC control as it gives me more precision when it comes to making sharp turns and having better over all control. I'm not too fond of the Wii Wheel.

It's fun to try but I find myself making right turns with the control while my character actually goes left. Too unresponsive for my liking.

Just try it for yourself.

I prefer the Wiimote plus Nunchuk, but you should go with the method you find best.

It depends; if you treat the game as fun use the wheel because clearly they released the wheel with the game to re-define how the game is to be played. However, if you want to treat it competitively then don't use the wheel.

Using a GC controller means you miss out on trick boosts.

I do use the wii wheel - and i like it! give it a chance, just because its different doesn't make it wrong!

You can do tricks with the gamecube controller (just use the D-Pad).

As for the Wheel - use it... now.

I think I agree with the poster who said using the wheel is more fun.

Honestly, some (not all) that will come on here and say not to use the wheel for whatever reason, simply don't like change. They are used to a certain control scheme, and they don't feel like they'll be as good if they need to learn a new one.

I personally use the wii wheel cause it is super fun and different. I have no problem using the nunchuck when more than one person is playing. Give it a try and see if ya like it.

I am IN LOVE with the wheel. I'm honestly the worst player ever at driving games (and pretty much all other games) but the wheel makes this very easy and intuitive and FUN!!!

I actually think that the steering is tighter than the wheel in the arcade version - which is kinda funny to say, because the one in the arcade is actually attached to a drive shaft while the Wii wheel is not attached to anything. But it really feels pretty responsive to me! Depends on which vehicle you use too, some are harder to handle than others.

Yeah, I've played with the wheel, with just the Wii mote and with the nunchuck, and I like them all. The wheel, though, has pretty much been commandeered by my daughter so rather than spend eight bucks on a piece of plastic, I've been using the nunchuck

The wheel takes time getting used to; with practice, you can control your cart just as well as with a controller.

People who DON'T use the wheel are noobs. Don't be one of them.

Some of us prefer the accuracy of the other methods, plus being able to sit back and relax rather than waving our hands all over the place.

I'm lol'ing at this comment. Why did you BUY a Wii if you don't enjoy "moving your hands all over the place" XD

I only got the game a couple of hours ago so i haven't had a chance to try out all the control schemes yet but the wheel works great, in fact i was suprised how accurate it was. Not so keen using it for the bikes but i've only had one go at them.

Don't you get added bonuses for using the wheel that you don't get with the other controls? I'm sure i read that somewhere.
