To get the Golden Wheel next to your name you have to have at least 100 games played and used the wheel for at least 50% of it.

i like wiimote+numjuck. I tried the Gamcube, not the same as in double dash... Atm i'm doing 150cc(AND I SUCK!!!! ) barley got a bronze in shell ...i use numjuck setup for some of it, but i get owned when i use the wheel. I'm only good(decent) with the wheel when it's on Auto.

I hear your pain... the NPCs in the 150cc matches are relentless! I've had so many good tracks destroyed by NPC final-lap-attacks

Well I went ahead and bought a second wheel since it's more fun playing with people all with a wheel... I have to admit that I'm having a lot of difficulty with it (for example in the 100cc Leaf Cup I got like 6th with the wheel and 1st with the nunchuck) but I can get used to it. I'm at about 25% wheel use.

Kind of my problem, I'm not good with learning+trying new things. But I'm pretty sure I will eventually play enough with the wheel to win some races , anyone think its possible to get good at the wheel?

Im trying the wheel exclusively so far, also bought one for my wife.

I haven't played an MK title since n64 and so far, i am likeing the wheel. Sunday I finished off 50cc and 100cc cups and did a couple of 150cc Tuesday night.

Also started online and while im pretty much a noob, im doing pretty well I think, broke 6000 for my rating first night. I just need to work on avoiding peoples attacks. I tend to stay in or around first untill the 3rd lap and then i get unloaded on, other times, i win by a good 10+ second lead when not getting repeatedly hit. Guess i'll see how I do tonight.

Very fun and addicting game.

i use the wheel alot but after when i tried the GC contraller i coudnlt move cuz i kept turning it like a wheel XD

love using the wheel. i havent tried playing it with the nunchuk yet.

can u change the control in this game like the way u can change it in brawl?


I tried playin with classic controller i mean.. it's good and all but the acceleration is at the a button and its the one on the very right which is slightly awkward for a racing game...

How do I know what colour my wheel is?

The wheel makes it fun to play. I don't play much online. I mostly play with the kids and watching my 4yrd olds looks as he's playing the game wouldn't be the same with a controller. Not that he can't handle a controller he handle the Xbox360 controllers pretty well. Wheels make driving games, any driving game. I've had a wheel for my PC since they came out. Even after I stopped PC gaming I kept my wheel when throwing out all the old joysticks etc.

How do you get the wheel to work? I slipped my remote into it but it doesn't seem to steer or anything. I tried restarting the game several times to no avail...help please?

i used to use the wheel 100% of the time, but once i used the wiimote+nunchuck, it just didn't feel as responsive as it once did...

still, it's hella fun to use!

Well I got the wheel to work with the #2 remote with no problems...but it won't work at all with the first remote, which otherwise works perfectly.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Thanks!

I use the wheel and I actually love it.

So i decided to try them all,

• The controller without the wheel
  The wheel
  The N64 controller
  The mote and numchuck
  The classic wii controller

Controller without wheel sucks big time, due to the fact tricks arnt easy wihtout grip and turning feels odd.

The wheel is fun and easier to use and well everyones finally got a chance.

The N64 controller i hated with a passion due to the trick stick being mr yellow ... along way from anyother buttons (which i found very unsuitable for small hands aka me.)

The mote and numchuck, i will forgive them it isnt brilliant but it also isnt hard, i had a 4 yr old playing with them and they picked it up very easily.

The classic wii controller was always gonna suck tbh guys, why make a console with a remote and promote a classic controller, it sucked for everything handeling tricks EVERYTHING.

The wheel tbh won for me

Although sometimes it will glitch and sometimes hate you for every little movement.... the imense fun to be had "driving" is always a great high!
