On one of the screens for choosing the type of race, there will be a button in upper right corner of screen for settings (similar to position of Licence Settings button). Select it and you can modify whether you want comp players, what skill level you want for them, whether you want items, what type of items, # of races per VS match, etc.

For future reference: it's always helpful to go through as much of the in game menus as possible. Before you start a game, just click on all the buttons possible. I have found that if I do that before I start a game, I both understand what I can change and I know where to go if I need to change it.

Just some advice for future gaming.

hey im trying to get the sprinter medium kart and it says unlock 24 expert ghosts in tt i did that but i havent got the kart yet any tps?

Right before the third pow, just lift up on the wiimote or Wii wheel as if you where going to pop a wheelie.

well thank you for your concern i was asking silvertide becuz he had just found out about the boost at the begining of a race i do now what to do and have known what to do but thank you any way for your concern

got the game a week ago. doing pretty well in the 50cc cups but cant manage anything online. esp with a bike.

i think i will have to get some more karts unlocked before going on line.

The standard bike is pretty good, but yeah online is pretty rough in MKW, so yeah u may need a faster bike, a better dominion over tracks and mostly practice... sometimes this is useless due to items anyway
