The wii version is pretty crappy, I don't really get why there can not be a world tour mode. Character creation is fun and nice to have, but not really needed. Well actually typing this out makes it seem a lot worse :P.
Maybe since the Wii will still be around for a few more years, they will release more discs with the download songs on them.
and ppl.... jus get it if you plan to rock out with your FAMILY or FRIENDS.... that's what gaming is about....... HAVING FUN
Having already rocked out with my friends on their 360, I can say it was fun. Although it was fun mostly because we had such a wide choice of music to play from all the DLC!
Stuck with just the tiny crappy selection of what came on the disc would/will SUCK!
So your right, have fun with your tiny selection of music.......

you think they would really take out downloadable content? what purpose would this serve? tons of potential money would just be loss, there was obviously limitations of the wii.
online play you say? maybe they dont feel like supporting yet MORE servers for a game on a console that as a considerably low number of online players.
It is totally their fault. Rather than make something Wii specific they just port straight from the PS2 version. Instead of making some wireless Wii specific instruments (like GH3 did) they just make old wired ones white. They could have added online play (which GH3 has) but they are just sticking with the no online PS2 port.
Given that the Wii is starting to get a little bit of DLC (SSBB, a few WiiWare games and long running rumors of an update for GH3) then why not include it as an option (even if just for the future) as i don't see much difference in DLC or a WiiWare or VC game. WiiWare will be out before this releases and even delaying Rock Band to be able to use it wouldn't have hurt considering it's so late anyway. If space is a really big factor for them then they should include a SD card, they are asking $170 for it so they could throw in a $10 card.
None of this happened because EA/Harmoix are just being lazy and cheap. If they are porting a game from PS2 they should make some kind of improvement but Rock Band has nothing, all it has is white instruments. So the Wii gets an 8/10 PS2 version instead of a 9/10 one. It's a shame because Rock Band is really well suited to the Wii's audience and GH3 got good sales.
Does the lack of World Tour Mode NOT bother you people? Seriously, this is THE CORE mode of the game, and it's not in the Wii version. What you're left with is basically a list of songs to play through. Basically, the Wii version is an empty shell version of the real versions. Anyone who buys this is a total sucker, and is the reason why the Wii has so many terrible, shallow games--because all these noob tools keep buying them!

Amen! Developer laziness is what it boils down to for all but the DLC, at least. A similar analogy could be how Konami could have just ported a PS2 version of Pro Evolution Soccer to the Wii, but instead created an entirely new and innovative control scheme using the Wii motion control system.
$170 for half a game, no thanks. Can't use the GH guitar so if I want to play with 4 people I have to buy another guitar because it only comes with one, No Thanks.
I could live without online becaues Nintendo screwed up with the hard drive size but the other features could be done.
I cannot buy a game that makes me mad just thinking about it.
This needs to fail. In the era of mass information trying to give us a dumbed down PS2 port isn't going to go without people having a fit.
I haven't played Rock Band, but isn't that also basically what Guitar Hero (on the Wii) is?
Note that I'm not forgiving the lack of DLC for GH either. I predict a day when I get sick of the short list of included songs and stop playing.
Rock Band on the 360/PS3 has a world tour mode. On the PS2 it was removed so that it is basically the same as Guitar Hero, playing through a list of songs. Wii is getting the PS2 version without any changes or wireless instruments.
That's why i'm just sticking with GH3, at least it has online play and a wireless guitar! There's always the option of Guitar Hero:Aerosmith if you run out of songs too.
