Disconnects: Points Still Count?

I have gotten disconnected 7/8 last races I've tried playing, and each time I get disconnected its in the first 10 seconds of the race when I'm in 1st or 2nd, then it shows me gaining points and those points seem to still be there now. Will those points ever be removed - and vice versa, if I happened to be in last place and got d/c'd would I earn those points back? Anyone noticed either way yet?
