Well, it has the highest Metacritic rating of any game of all time: 99. Pretty much every major and most minor critics have given it a 100. So from a completely objective standpoint, it is very much logical to say that this is indeed the best game ever made.

It's already trumped Galaxy by a long shot, as well as Zelda: OoT.

And the Wii will never get this game? Right?

Will the Wii ever get a game that even approaches GTA IV in quality and ratings? I sure hope so, for all of our sakes.

Really? I only checked the scores for the 360 version, as I figured they'd be the same as the PS3 (most review sites just use the same review for both).

I reckon I'll just have to pick up a 360/PS3 sometime down the road just to get this game, then.

Well, this game and others...

I don't know, but it's already in my personal top 5 of all time, and I'm only 10% through the game. I'm sure there are some plot twists, and surprises that will put it at the top. So I guess I could go out on a limb and say for me, it's probably the best, yes.

I saw a quote earlier today that said it costs ~$100 million to make this game. Which I don't entirely doubt, considering all the small details that went into it. I mean, it has over 100 unique webpages on it's 'internet'. The amount of dialogue in this game is almost unfathomable.

it has minor frame rate and pop up issues. but it so minor that it doesn't ruin the game. do you honestly think that a game that big and good looking not have any kind of problem? what gta 4 did is great.

The GTA games are funny, entertaining, and they did a great service to gaming by subverting the tired system of completely linear games.

I don't mean to go on a tangent but I need to understand this because everyone seems to be dying for this game.

What does it do so well that makes everyone praise this game? It is using the same themes it has since its PS iteration, it reminds me of Dynasty Warriors, every year it gets flashier and a few more quests, but it is still all of the same. It doesn't win in sandbox, that would have to go to ES4: Oblivion/KoT9/SI. The graphics are superb but aren't all next gen titles? (atleast we can agree they should be.) Is it just the fanboy base because it has been around for so long?

I'm not bashing this game in any way seeming as I have played them all (but this one, I've watched.) I just really don't understand why everyone agrees this is so awesome. I can understand the fanboy pedestal as I do that for a few games, but is there something more I'm missing? (Please don't bother rehashing what I've said about nextgen goodness.)

And as a final note, I do agree that this is a good game so don't flame me.

It's not fanboyism. It's just amazing lol. well for the graphics looking good, this is kind of an achievement for a game this big. the fun... well, if you don't like the missions (i don't, really) then the fun comes from what you can think of. the limit is your imagination.

Main reason Wii didn't and won't have GT4 is because of the target Audience the Wii was looking for= FAMILIES and young kids.
