When I look at the Ghost racing by the top people in the world, they can do the Mini Turbo really quickly, like in 2 seconds...
but when i tried it, it at least take 4, 5 seconds of sliding before the blue fire or red fire comes out... is there a way to bring the Mini Turbo out fast like they can? Thanks very much!
What she said, turn sharply. Use karts with a high "mini-turbo" rating too.

there is no more snaking as in Mario Kart DS huh? any other tricks we need to use besides the Mini Turbo and Super Mini Turbo?
Well everyone says you can't snake but if you are good you can. It's NOT very beneficial in Mario Kart Wii though. I haven't snaked except against like 2 guys I've played against that do it. It gives you a very small advantage, it's barely worth doing.

Oh yeah by the way, it also looks like if you do the Wheelie on the bike (standing on one wheel?), then you gain some speed as well...

Hey, I'm all for the snaking parade, but I do not use it in this game.
There's just no one that uses it, it's very difficult to pull off, and the tracks are tiny. No one actually knows if snaking was actually supposed to be in the DS version, but damn, those tracks sure had to be that wide for a reason, it made the game fun.
This one's, eh... More user friendly, and you will get slaughtered with items and you can't gain enough speed to change back quickly, with the time it takes to boost... It's just not worth it at all.
I certainly hope it wasn't purposeful on the DS, it ruined the game for anyone who chose not to give themselves arthritis trying to learn how to snake. (i mean myself)
If that wasn't direct enough, I'm glad theres no snaking on the wii.
