Hi yall i am new here if you couldnt tell.

Yesterday i bought a used wii. Took it home and it has a lot of VC games and other channels(inet channel). Can i take those and put them on a sd card? Becuase i have to take this system back becuase when i inserted a disk it started to make a really loud whirring/whining sound when it was reading the cd the entire time.

I want to take these channels with me cause i dont want to buy them again you know.

i am 99% sure you can, i backed up my VC games on my SD card but what i havent tried is erase them off my wii and then try and load them from my SD card.

They can only be played on the Wii that they were downloaded from. You can copy them to an SD card but they can't be copied to a different Wii and work.

An SD card basically expands the size of the hard drive. You can't transfer the games to a different wii, nor can you play the games from the SD card. If you're sending your wii in for repairs then you should be fine, when you get it back it'll have the same system ID and such so you'll be able to transfer them from the SD card. You can actually just re-download them whenever you need to from the Internet channel though. Once they've been downloaded to a wii once, you can download them again for free as long as you're using the same wii.

that sucks I totally thought you could transfer games between Wii's *sucks* but i suppose if that were possible nintendo would lose out on alot of money. and its not like Wii points are that expensive...lol off topic here, but is anyone else waiting for Nintendo to release the chrono trigger ROM?...come to think of it i havent seen any Square. titles yet. i wonder if they are going to sell the rights to Nintendo so they can use their games??

Square games like Kingdom Hearts would be a perfect fit on the Wii. It all depends on how much control Sony has over them I guess.
