Online Golden Wheel
Hi all, just a quick question.
When you play online you get an icon of the Wii Wheel when you play using that control scheme. For some people this is a gold wheel. When I was playing today I noticed that my Wheel icon has turned gold as well. I was wondering what I did to warrant this colour change. I'm sorry if this is answered in the game manual, I never got one with my copy.  I'm currently in negotiations with Nintendo and Big W as to whose going to send my a one.

If you use the wheel alot online you get the Golden Wheel. I'm not sure how this is calculated though.

I thought it might be that because I just did complete the 50cc cup with the Wheel. In fact I haven't tried any other control method yet.

Well, I'm not entirely sure but I know if you 3 star every cup then your gold wheel receives 3 stars above it.

and of couse the next number down is obvious

Ooh i've been wondering this myself, i thought like Eagles did that it was just if you played online alot with the wheel it went gold lol. I need to start getting my stars on the other cups, always playing online lately!

I always wondered that myself, although I tend to use my Gamecube controller online as it feels a bit tighter but I do enjoy using the Wheel.

Has anyone gotten the golden wheel without playing single player? Then we'd know for sure.
What I've heard most is that it relates to using it a lot online. I have to imagine that if you unlock it in single player, the game would announce it. I just seem to have randomly gotten my golden wheel.

I completed 50cc the day I got the game (with the Wheel) and as far as I can tell, its still white for me. So I'm guessing it goes by how much you've used it during online gameplay.

I have never played 50cc and I have the golden wheel so that's not the reason.
so I bet it's just a matter of using it several times.
