MKW: List of Shortcuts
For anybody who wanted tips on how to get more points or faster times, just list any shortcuts and such here, though im pretty sure I got most of them covered. And be specific!
Maple Treeway: As you just leave the start line, turn right and go through a tunnel. A quicker way to get to the Blast Barrel. If you got a Mushroom handy, use it to get in (there's a offrad section).
DS Delfino (1): After the alleyways, turn left into a garden before the small bridge, and use a Mushroom, and you will land on a docking platform, and get a item. This is high risk as you will often drown.
DS Delfino (2): After the small bridge, turn hard right after the 2 boxes into a alleyway, use a Mushroom, brake and turn hard or you will drown in the ocean.
Wario Goldmine: On the tracks with all mine carts, turn left near the end. If you dont hit a kart, you should have 4 boosters ahead and a big jump to the start line.
Coconut Mall: Although a very small one, it can really save time. After the first escalator, turn right into the aisle, and near the end, go through the open store with a mushroom, and jump out to the fountain.
Mario Circuit SNES: Can't explain where, but you should find a open space in the blocks near the end of the track that you can boost through to skip a U-turn.
Thats all I got, found any more? Try looking a some of the first place finishers in the MK Channel, in the Time Trial Rankings section.

No problem. I recomend the Flame Runner and Magikoopa bike for Time Trials, and wheelie at every oppurtunity! Got a couple small ones that should be easy to find.
Peach Gardens DS: As you approach the minefield of moles, use a mushroom and go for the jump on the RIGHT, not straight ahead.
Moonview Highway: Near the start, there is a grass hill that looks like a quarter pipe (this isn't the concrete one at the start, but just after). Go to the top and follow the trail to a jump. But don't overshoot the road, or you will be behind the pack!
Cocunut Mall: An easy one to find, as its often taken by the AI racers. Before the right turn to huge jump to exit the mall. Go on the booster, and take the aisle to the right, do a stunt over the tree, and off the jump. Its not as high but shoots fartherand lower to the ground.

Shy Guy Beach: On the first green patch, go around the left side, and go across the shallows to the island with one crab, and straight to the closest shore. Mushrooms aren't needed here, but handy.

thanks for the tips. what sucks is that for most shortcuts, you're gonna need a mushroom to get through the dirt/grass/water. i guess it's meant to level its uses (i.e. so that you can only use them when you get the proper item to), but it still presents a problem for those who are in front and would like to further their lead.
oh well, just my opinion.

Also I think it's one of the DK levels (the one where the cannon blasts you onto the rocky mountain where the boulders fall and hit you), where the tracks snakes around at the end, right before the 3rd u-turn you can take a sharp right right after the fence ends and save a couple seconds on making that u-turn down the way.

And for those who are absolutely crazy...
GBA Bowser Castle: On the boost bumps over lava pits, stop before you hit the last. Turn toward the corner of the track on your left. Boost over the bump and over the lava. Skips a big-U turn.
Oh, and if you like karts over bikes, I recomend Blue Falcon.
