I don't like the idea of Wii Fit. Why not get large kids in front of the TV and enjoy games like...
Leaning side 2 side, roll the ball in the hole, sticking out your leg, and hit soccer ball with your head. Had enough? Stick out your OTHER leg.
I perfer the idea of getting fit by going to a place called OUTSIDE. Dont like the bulkiness of a 3$ hoop? Get a 300$ Wii for the same fun!

"Going outside" doesn't target weight loss. Wii Fit does.
It is a lot cheaper than paying for a gym membership (over a couple months) and a trainer. Plus if you do start to get in a bad habit of not working out regularly then you can come back to WF as many times as you like.

I'll be sitting in this bench, watching those people throw a ball around while shoving hot-dogs down my throat. I'm outside, so the weight should just melt off. Yay.

Your sort of missing the point
I am a fairly serious recreational boxer. I run, lift weights, do tons of boxing training. I don't need the extra exercise. I am getting Wii Fit because it looks fun.

I think it's a stupid idea too.
But, it's selling like crazy. So, what do I know?

This thread is a dumb idea.
If you don't like something that will promote getting you fit and improving your health then just ignore it and stay stuck to your couch.
Just going outside won't get you fit and healthy either; especially if it's -40 outside like it can be in the winter here. It might give you pneumonia or frost bite though.
WiiFit's aim is to get you to know your body and encourage good health and fitness; so what is dumb about that?

it isn't actually supposed to keep you fit. I read it some where on this forum.

Maybe I approached this wrongly. This would be fine for those who get into a fitness routine. If you think im negative, look at the Wii Fit Parody on Utube

Yes, but the problem is that most kids don't have the will to go outside and play sports. Wii Fit is designed to get them started on a healthier lifestyle.

Wii Fit COULD be good. I would get it if it was a good game. However, it really doesn't look like one. I'd much rather go outside anyway. Even if it doesn't target weight loss, it's at least exercise.

I think Wii Fit is brilliant. Do you have any idea how many people buy exercise stuff? Tons! I know several people who are thinking of buying a Wii just for Wii Fit including my mom. I'm not a fan of the BMI measurement it uses, but the fact that it tracks your progress as you go is very handy and will probably help people stay with it more than if they were trying to exercise alone.
I'm going to try my sister's when she gets it, then wait for the hype to go down and see if I want it or not.
I'm seeing a whole line of Nintendo exercise "games." I'd be surprised if they didn't. If they can pull it off, it's big bucks.

I love Wii and Nintendo but this does not seem very fun to me.

Your not going to lose much weight doing anything unless you improve your diet and lifestyle, and if that is done Wii Fit can help you lose pounds.
Dumb idea?..no genius actually as this thing will sell so much, its going to be huge.

I can't wait for Wii Fit - looks like a blast to me! Then again I love yoga and moving my body, and since I'm such a retard at games using a normal controller, maybe I'll have a fighting chance and doing well on some of these!
Although I know I won't lose an ounce playing Wii Fit . . . the lasagna, how it haunts me . . .
Just hoping it'll be fun!
