i don't know if someone else has already found this or not, due to the fact i'm on the this site as much as i used to be, but i found this article interesting.



Rock Band DLC boxed for PS2, Wii
Track Pack Volume 1 arrives in stores July 15 with 20 songs for $30; artists include Boston, David Bowie, Weezer, and more.

From day one, downloadable content was a core focus for Harmonix's Rock Band. However, only the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game have supported downloadable content, much to the chagrin of those who purchased last year's PlayStation 2 version of the game, as well as those who plan to purchase the Wii edition when it launches next month.

However, the music cannot be stopped. Harmonix announced today that it is bringing downloadable content to the Wii and PS2 versions of Rock Band, just not in downloadable form. Instead, gamers will be able to buy a disc from retailers containing songs previously released as downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The Rock Band Track Pack Volume 1 will include 20 master tracks from 20 different artists, and will retail for $29.99 when it launches July 15.

own it for the ps2 Might not be able to d/l stuff BUT ITS FUN as HELL!

yeah i know you won't be able to download anything but at least they are giving ps2 & wii owners able to at least get the extra songs that have been available for xbox360 & ps3 owners.

how they doing that for ps2??

& supposedly rockband for the wii isn't going to suck as bad as people say it's going to, which is exciting.

no dlc + no world tour + no character customization + no online play + no gh3 guitar compatibility + uber late release + same price as 360 and ps3 versions = it phucking sucks.

well from what i'm reading there's going to be online & customization. & it says the same thing for the other versions as it does for the wii. so i'm assuming there will be the world tour.

it's already been confirmed that the wii won't have online play, world tour, along with other aspects of the game...my guess is that you're reading about the 360 and ps3 versions.

We have it on the 360 - I am still holding out hope that they'll come out with music expansion packs because we can't connect the Xbox to the internet at home (or the Wii, for that matter). We did get some of the RB DLC at a friend's house, so I can say with authority that March of the Pigs is one of the hardest songs to sing EVER!

Anyway, even though we can't play RB online, it is still the most fun party game any of my family or friends have every played! It was well worth the price of the console AND the peripherals. So, if you have no other way to play Rock Band, you might want to try it on the Wii!

Yep, the previews have shown it to be exactly like the PS2 version so there s none of those things. It's just a lame port.

Selling extra songs on disks is a way round not having DLC but it's not ideal as you can't pick and choose what songs you want to get. Still a no buy for me, i'm sticking with GH3.

well i know for sure they are doing the whole customization thing because it says so right on the rockband website.

it pretty much says the same thing for the wii version that it does for the ps3 version, except for the dlc [which is obvious]

so that's why i'm guessing about the only & world tour.

screw rock band, i'll be buying guitar hero aerosmith (and waiting quietly for the fabled DRUM HERO)
