On manual i get a turbo boost everytime i do a smooth drift. I havnt noticed this with automatic, so does it only happen on manual? or do i have to play more lol.

Manual's harder to turn, but everyone knows it's better if you can master it. Another thing is that the wiimote is better over the Gamecube controller, because the shoulder buttons require you to press down with pressure, so I can't handle bikes and such.

For having an attractive bitch side, you're too nice.
The longer you hold it, the more you get, as well. Depending on how much Mini-Boost the vehicle has. I personally find drifting to be one of the most enjoyable parts of the game, even though it takes awhile to truly master.

you're looking at a master

It's a lot better to have it on manual. Drifting is a lot better on MKW than it was on MKDD IMO. Even without the wii wheel, drifting is easier to master, but it takes awhile to get it just right.

yeah the turbo-boost can really make the difference. I should've practiced mastering manual while mastering the wheel. too late now im too used to automatic...but its ok cos at the end of the day blue shells don't discriminate
It's a trade off. More control for slower speed? Higher speed, automatic is a good combo. Balanced is also a good choice. I've been in enough races to know that there's no god kart. It comes down to the kart, and style that best match your skills. Start from there, and work your way up.

thanks for the input, it's been about two days since i bought mkw and i started off using manual control so my drifting is coming along pretty well. The wheel is really fun too, ive taken first place a couple times and it's definitley funner then just using the normal controller. Normal Controller is for people that are uncordinated and can't keep up with the modern day controls LOL

I personally use automatic because I find it is much easier to get good times with it. Plus I use the wheel online and manual + wheel= really hard to control.
Automatic is best used with big cars that have high speed because you can easily travel the quickest routes through the course and you won't really be hitting anything if you are any good at it.
Manual is definitely the better way to play but only if you are really good at it and know the courses good. It is much easier to run into walls though, which can impact your course times greatly. And you also won't be able to pull off some of the turns that you can do in automatic.

I personally find drifting quite easy, I always use a bike as well, so the wheelies are nice too, they got me a couple wins down the last stretch. I just forget to do it all the time.

since i've switched to bikes, i haven't been able to stand using karts any longer! bikes are faster, easier to control, able to go through tight spaces, able to pop a wheelie, and normally have better drifting.
karts suck
