When fans debate which of their plentiful wells Nintendo will be returning to for their next big title, Kid Icarus is always a popular suspicion. Now, IGN's Matt Casamassina has basically confirmed that it's on the way to Wii. On episode 7 of the IGN Nintendo Voice Chat podcast Casamassina says, "Of course [Nintendo is] going to have some E3 surprises. You know, Kid Icarus, for crying out loud, how many times do we have to say Kid Icarus? Kid Icarus is coming for crying out loud." When a co-host asks if he wants to reveal the developer he responds "I think we've confirmed it a billion times but no, I'm not going to say it officially."
Adding more fuel to the fire on this week's show Casamassina said "Kid Icarus, that's another one that I'm really anticipating just because I love the franchise and I'm sure that the developer will make a really pretty game." It looks like we'll have to wait for July to hear anything official from Nintendo but, if Casamassina is to be believed (we've asked him for further clarification), a Wii version of Kid Icarus seems to be all but a done deal.

New Kid Icarus seems inevitable - developer will be Factor 5 of course. They managed to push the game cube to its limit with graphics, and I'm sure they'll do a fine job on Wii.

You really think it will be Factor 5?
I see Retro Studios handling a game like this. I kinda imagine it like Prime 3, imagine Samus's double jump as Pit's "Flying"....Feels Natural. And then for them to transist the 2D game into a 3D first person Adventure. Exploration galore.
It's Possible.......But i wouldn't mind Factor 5 working on it. They rock.
oh and to further the speculation IGN put up some old screen shots of Icarus today along with punch-out. (Punch out on its way too.....lol)

So many thing's to expect this year from E3 cant wait. I find it hard to imagine how this game will look since all i can imagine is pit in sse gameplay lol.
I figured that this was the game that reggie fils-amie was talking about. This is kind of a gamble, as Kid Icarus is a very obscure game compared to other franchises. It could do great, or it could fail, which is something new since nintendo first party titles rarely fail nowadays.
well, if this game has any hope at all of surviving, it had better be a damn good first or third person adventure, not some side-scrolling platformer...
only brawl and the mario series are allowed to do that. that is the law.
