Kid Icarus Wii Concept Artwork

Although we do not have much new information in regards to the project, we have acquired nearly 30 pieces of concept art for the game, showing various different versions of Pit's new design, plus concept work for some of his weapons.

When we last wrote about the project, Factor 5 was in the process of pitching it to Nintendo. In the time since, we've spoken to at least one source that claims the Big N has expressed interest in publishing such a project. However, at this time, we are uncertain of whether or not Nintendo has committed to doing so. In other words, we have been unable to confirm whether or not Nintendo has officially green-lighted the project, but if we had to speculate, we'd say things are looking good for it.

The artwork we've published comes from a pitch document we got our hands on in the early part of 2008. Since then, sources have told us the game's artwork has advanced considerably. Despite this artwork not being reflective of the game's current standing, we've decided to share it so fans can get a look at what Factor 5 has experimented with.

The last nugget of information we have to share with you is in regards to the game's plot. At the time of the document's writing, Factor 5 had imagined a plot starring a grown-up, adult Pit, who is "cursed for thousands of years for a crime and becomes a 'fallen angel'." The pitch adds that "a tattoo on Pit's arm bears the inscription of Pit's crime."

When asked for comment on the existence of a Factor 5-developed installment in the Kid Icarus franchise, Nintendo gave us the expected "no comment on rumors" statement.

well... its not exciting me. =/
it seems they might be trying to get a little more edgy with the story, personally its not interesting to me though. Perhaps if it was a crime he didnt commit, but thats a bit cliche.

Looks good, although there is like 30 different styles of Pit, or that might not be all of him but I'm still going to buy this no matter what.

I really like the dark feel to the concept art. Makes me think Darth Vader (which is good), like he's avenging something. I like the plot as well.

i'd prefer the brawl pit to any of those, the rest just a) look too old

and the key term is kid icarus

and the rest look like link wanna-bes

I agree alot with what you said. While I would prefer the brawl Pit, it would be nice to see a bit more detailed KID Pit.

me too, i'd like a dark medusa-like story-line, but we don't need a sketchy character to have a darker story-line

I really like some of the older/darker looking versions. I'd love to see Kid Icarus done in more of grown-up comic book style as opposed to Saturday morning cartoons.

Granted I never actually played a Kid Icarus game but the ideas sound interesting.

But that's the point of their story line, that he's been cursed for several years, so he can't be a little kid anymore.

If true, that sounds like Factor 5 pitched a "God of War" prototype to Nintendo.

That is actually cheesy. But I would give it a shot.

They could always have God of War type gameplay, but no need to make Pit a fallen angel. That seems really stupid and I doubt Nintendo would do that.

I definitely like the Nintendo(Brawl) version of Pit better than those concept arts. Those looked like bad 80s cartoon drawings.

Edit: the 2nd one from the right does not look to bad. Still I'd rather Pit be pit and a great Nintendo game than a Sony clone.

kid icarus had a sequel on the gameboy.
