I've been wondering this as well. I've seen videos of people playing it on carpet, but my carpet is really plushy.

I think you can buy extension legs to use it on carpet. It does have small feet as it is, but would be no good on carpet. BTW i use my Wii Fit on a rug, but it's not a fluffy rug. It's a hard rug.

Depends on how fluffy your carpet is and how thick of under lay you have. If you keep the boad in one place and create some carpet groves -over time it should be okay even in the thicker carpet.
Yeah mine is also fluffy...... i wonder.... i guess we would haveto wait till it come out.. would it be possible calling nintendo and asking them this question????
I'm sure you could just cut a piece of thin (1/8"-1/4") plywood to put under it. Plywood is strong, so it should hold your weight, and it's thin, so you won't really notice the difference in height.

It really depends on whether you personally think you'll use it regularly. The balance games are fun. The muscle and aerobic exercises do give a good workout, and there are quite a variety of exercises to choose from. I'm not really into the Yoga part though.
I think it was a good purchase, especially as there are others in the house who will also get some good use out of it. The only problem is, I don't know how I'm going to gain weight from it as I'm currently underweight.
