Granted, I haven't played either game. But both reviews seem very fair and fairly objective. I'll be passing on these two games for sure. Hopefully games that aren't so completely shallow and/or short won't be the rule for Wiiware.

all reviews and critiques of games and movies are irrelevant. nobody can tell me what i will and won't like. Nobody but me. I've seen games get scores of 2.0 or less and I found it to be the greatest game of all time. And conversely I've played games that the reviewers just can't stop raving about and found it to be total garbage.
^^ Most Zelda games get high scores but I don't like them. Granted reviews can give you some insight on the game, but only look at reviews that talk about new features and such rather than opinions. Those are the most helpful because opinions are subjective. Unless you can find a reviewer with the same exact taste in games as you, reviews aren't all that helpful...

why? because they rated games low? did you even read the reviews? what do you find unfair about it?

The thing you have to remember about reviews is, they are one person's opinion. Everyone has different likes and dislikes, so of course you might find the game better or worse than what was claimed. A review is just a guide, a way of finding out what you might think of the game. The best thing to do is to read multiple reviews, then decide if it's worth splashing out your money on it.

I don't trust reviews that much any more they seem to become more unreliable every year. But I'm really surprised at how inaccurate gamespot's reviews often are. More often then not they do make valid points but their scores are still crazy sometimes. I still remember the MP3 review, that was funny, they said something like the controls were to precise and made it to easy to aim. Funny I usually have trouble aiming with dual analog nowadays. I was really impressed how accurate the aiming was in that game, pretty much as good as a mouse. I will never understand how they perceived precise controls as a bad thing.

It's only ten bucks, who cares if it's not perfect?
It's a bit hefty for three hour's worth of gameplay.
If Toki Tori is any good (and the Game Boy version a few years back got decent reviews) and is longer than Lost Winds, then for me that takes priority.

Well, the thing you have to remember about reviews is:
1. You have to remember that reviews are strongly influenced by the amount of money they're being paid to review, especially gamestop (See: kane & lynch review controversy).
2. Reviewers tend to seriously discourage small time developers. If a small company were to make a great game, it will get low scores simply because they don't pay out. Businesses are there to make money.
3. Gamespot is the worst review site. Give them enough money and they'll give any game a 10. Also, they're horribly biased against anything related to Nintendo because they have shitty reviewers that care far more about their paycheck than their personal opinions (with the exception of a choice few. See: Kane & Lynch review controversy).
