Day Tripper instead of Royal Racer

I was trying to knock off the 150 cc cups this afternoon. When I won the Leaf Cup, I thought I was going to be awarded the "Royal Racer". Instead, I got some goofy looking carriage called the Day Tripper. When did that change occur? Is it a regional thing?

Well the Royal Racer is a goofy looking carriage so its most likely the same kart but the name difference, not sure. What region do you live in?

The Day Tripper is the Royal Racer. It's called Royal Racer in the PAL version.
