Stuck on Transformers: Getting Past Demolisher

Hi, first post here. We're new Wii owners and my 9 year old son just got "Transformers" ....

He can't get past the Demolisher, i.e., he can't destroy it and get to the next phase of the game. It appears that he needs to crush the big tire by hitting it (which he does) but he can't take it down.

He's about to give up on the game. Any hints you can give would be appreciated.

Did you get an answer to this? My 5 year old is stuck also and I can't help him get past Demolisher?
