I love Yoshi.. I use him a lot because he was my main in SSBM (but not so much in SSBB) and I think he's adorable, but too many people use Yoshi, so I use that freaky Birdo. She'd be fine if her mouth wasn't all gaping open.
Does it really matter? The characters don't make a difference, the karts do. Although, Dry Bones and King Boo can make karts look really cool, and playing with babies is lame (slamming into them with my heavy Mii is fun though).
Most of the time, I pick the Mii (Heavy) and Honeycoupe. I'm guessing the weight of your Mii is based on the weight of the character you beat the cup with.

Sorry to tell you this but you are wrong. Why do you think all of the time setters use funky kong or dry bowser and not and any other heavy weight?
