Tiger Woods 09?

So I a new Wii owner and new to this forum. I am by no means new to the world of forums since I own two websites with forums.

My question is on the upcoming Tiger Woods 09? I rented the 08 version and its pretty good. I prefer to play online and would like to know if 09 will be online capable? I have tried to search for it but could not find the answer.

I know the wii is not geared to online play like the other systems. But I do enjoy online multiplayer more than singel player.

Yes, it will have online. There will be 4 players, who all hit their shots at the same time, and the other players' ball paths while in flight will be marked by a line, so you can see how bad they suck. It's going to be awesome, that's for sure.

I must admit, I hate Tiger Woods games but that sounds pretty damn awesome.

I haven't played a TW on Wii but I would like to try one before 09 so I can get used to the controls. I heard here that the 07 version controls weren't that good. Has this improved in 08? I would prefer to buy 07 since it would be cheaper especially considering I'll be spending $50 on 09 soon. Should I get 07 or 08, taking controls and price into consideration?

Just save your money and wait for 09. Or better still buy Wii love Golf.

I never tried the 07. I also only played for few minutes on the 08. I have played a lot of other golf games online on other systems. but not the wii since I have only owned it for about a week now. I have a lot of games to try out still. rent them before you buy them and see for yourself is my only suggestion.

from what i saw on a video review of 08 was that the swing controls were pretty ordinary in that your swing doesnt hit the ball, but you have to match the swing of the controller with the animation on the screen and the power is determinned by holding the back swing longer.

i will only get tiger woods 09 if the swing controls are actually swinging the wiimote as if it were a golf club.

Bingo. Same goes for me.

Why TW 07 and 08 didn't do this, we'll have no idea. EA would be very smart to do the 1-to-1 swing ratio if they want to actually sell their game.

If it's not 1-to-1, then We Love Golf will have to do. Not a simulation game, but it will have 1-to-1 and online play.

it would be like having a tennis game where you point the wiimote where you want the guy to run then press the trigger to swing.

motion sensing controller with an oblong shape. my god its so obvious.

hell, they could go one further and make it compatible with the balance board. to measure your balance of your stance. now that would be freaking awesome.

When I am doing a drive or chip to get to the green, I swing and the power I put into the swing is translated into the swing of my player and the player hits the ball at the same time. I can twist the remote to make it hook or slice. I can go slower or not as far back to not hit it as hard. The only readout I get is that I hit the ball at a percentage (i.e. 100% power).

When I am putting, I pull the putter back to get the green power and then follow through to get the blue power.

Yeah, I've never had to match the animation on the screen. The animation(for the most part) matches what I'm doing.

In their tag-line for their recent hands-on review, IGN stated that the controls are 1:1.

And as far as We Love Golf, IGN doesn't like it. They did initially, but the controls are supposedly terrible. It's supposed to have a pretty generic presentation as well (and ridiculously over-the-top cheesy too in my opinion...and I love Hot Shots Golf).
