problems adding friends to MK

Not sure what I am doing wrong. I have put in my brothers mii code and I still can't get him on my friends list for MK. If someone could let me know what I maybe doing wrong I would appreciate it. My MK code is 3652 0961 6709.

Make sure :

-The MK FC is correct
-You are not in different countries
-Both systems are connected to the Internet
-Both console owners register each other

Did he add your code too? Both of you have to add each other in order for it to work.

yep, we get prompted saying that we are friends yet, but the code is in there, and we double checked..
