ok i have been reading about the dlc issue and neversoft/activision is making it where you can use your sd cards. i am excited about this since for $40.00 you can get an 8 gig sd card.

Wii only supports 2GB max. Higher capacity SDHC cards are not compatible.
That is a question you need to pose to nintendo. They are the ones handcuffing 3rd party vendors on periphials. They have supposedly file suit against Nyko for a wireless nunchuk and hat proves they do not want vendors making periphials that attach directly to the Wii.

They could make it with the bluetooth wireless built-in, just like Rockband is doing.

If you read the NEWEST interview on ign the dude says that its Nintendo's STANDARD for them to use the wiimote w/ the "shells".
Kinda sucks but what can you do. The Team is trying their best to deliver the best experience equal to the 360/ps3 version (with a little extra for wii that the others wont be getting..........)

Can't a Firmware Update solve this?

That's fine, but it doesn't mean that Activision should be charing $70 for the shell (the same as the PS3 version). It's like charging $50 for the Wii Wheel, because the PS3 has a $50 steering wheel. The guitar shells should be, at most, $30-40.
Activision is taking advantage of Nintendo's policy and swindling the consumers.
if it's less than $200, i would orgasm right here. this just looks amazing, i am totally gonna trade in rock band when it comes out.
according to gamestop, it's been priced at $180. i'll be getting a nearly-overdue refund for my gh3, so i'll really only be paying $80 for it

And you are wrong about that. Rockband is not Bluetooth like the Wii Remotes. I am telling you Nintendo does not want 3rd party vendors making periphials that might infridge onthier Bluetooth design.
Quote:
So here's the part where I would normally write about the responsiveness of the wireless guitar (which communicates with the Wii via a USB wireless receiver dongle).
The Wii could support more than 2GB if all Nintendo did was send down a firmware update to allow for SDHC.
Anyone who says it's not possible doesn't understand the technology. Many originally SD-only digital cameras have received updates to allow SDHC. Heck, my ancient Palm T3 is getting a driver written for it by a Palm hacker who's writing SDHC drivers for tons of old Palms never meant to support SDHC.
And yes requiring you to stick a Wii remote into a shell is a Major FAIL on the part of Nintendo and 3rd-parties. And then charging MORE for the shell than they charge for the all-inclusive higher-tech XBox and Playstation guitars is downright unjustified criminal theft and raping of the consumer.

it wouldn't have hurt to know what you were buying, but you could probably sell it at nearly full price to a friend.
