Great news!!!

Activision was quick to point out that the Wii version will have the same features as the PS3 and 360. You can create songs, upload them, download them, and purchase famous downloadable tracks on Wii.

Last, but not least, you can pick from a variety of in-game highways (the background behind the notes that scroll down while playing).

Normally I'd say that the over 85 songs (all of which are master tracks and are promised to be a "step above GH3") on the disc for Guitar Hero: World Tour is impressive. Then I'd follow it up by saying I'm bummed that none of the downloadable content from Guitar Hero 3 will work with World Tour, but that the renewed commitment to DLC with an in-game music store (that may arrive shortly after launch), full album downloads and regular releases makes up for it to some extent. While all of that is true, it pales in comparison to the limitless options the music creator offers.
|
Notice how you still have to plug wiimotes into the guitars? (yes, it sucks)
Notice how you have to plug a wiimote into the drums? (yes, it sucks)
Wow!!! The mic does not require a wiimote!!! It's a miracle!!!

yea, i think you were first. if i could delete mine i could.
everything sounds awesome...except for the fact you have to plug those stupid wiimotes into your gear. that means you are paying at least an extra 80.00 for the dumb wiimotes to play. i don't want to keep yanking them out of my gear all the time...but maybe i will. i just don't feel like buying the extra wiimotes.

It really sucks the way they expect Wii owners to pay the same price for a shell, and then have to go out and by extra $40 remotes for each device. Why did they not just give us controllers instead of shells? I'd actually prefer USB wired controllers to this crap.

Too bad you'll only be able to download maybe 5 or 6 extra songs before your storage is all tapped out.
And that's after you delete all of your VC/Wiiware games and save files. LOL!
And ditto times a thousand on requiring Wiimotes in the equipment. Why do they do that? They don't do that for the PS3/360 versions. Yet replacement equipment costs JUST AS MUCH as the 360/PS3 versions despite all of the technology being in the Wiimote.
THAT is why I'll NEVER buy a GH game.

i guess it doesn't really bother me that i'll need to plug in my wiimotes, basically because i have two (guitar and drums are all i'll play anyways) and if my friends come over to play a full band they have extra remotes so i'll be good. it's still retarded though, just cuz i play GH so much that i have to keep recharging constantly. and it also pisses me off that it's still the same price as the ps3/360

I'm actually curious about this, I've found that the Wiimote extentions use very little battery power compared to Zelda or Metroid Prime type games. Even Lost Winds used a bucket load of batteries compared to playing Mario Kart Wii with the Classic Controller.
I have 4 Wiimotes so having to plug one in for each extention wont bother me all to much. But If the cost is the same for the PS3/Xbox, I'm going to have some issues with buying it.

Well since I have eliminated Rock Band and now that I know you have to plug wiimotes into the new Guitar Hero axes, I will finally break down and buy the GH3 bundle. I like the look of the Les Paul anyway. In October I get the GH4 guitar bundle so I have two axes. I may spring for a 3rd wiimote so I can leave one axe always ready. When friends come over I can just grab one of my main wiimotes to install in the secondary guitar.

IF Nintendo opens up the ports to be used with the game. That's a big IF. They didn't for GH3 or Rockband.

Because they didn't have DLC? For one thing, I'm sure Nintendo will reveal an external hard drive of some sorts at E3

That is a question you need to pose to nintendo. They are the ones handcuffing 3rd party vendors on periphials. They have supposedly file suit against Nyko for a wireless nunchuk and hat proves they do not want vendors making periphials that attach directly to the Wii.
