Again your talking about 360 and it's "quality" hardcore games but thats all opinion nothing else.
Although the reason the 360 is lagging behind is for the fact it only really supports the one style of gaming "hardcore" in the first place.
When it comes to game ratings of the 40 or so games on the 360 that have sold over a million games there is a pretty long list of games that have scored 7 or below from the critics, if you want me to compare top selling games and their scores for you I can, you would be pretty suprised.
But the critics are no different than any other gamer basing it on the game itself and their own opinion.
Opinion and the style of games people like always will vary, and just because a critic says one thing that doesn't make it quality or crap to everyone.
You can see that when games like Mario Party 8 and Mario and Sonic at the Olympics outsell Gears of War and Assasins Creed, top selling "hardcore: games for 360.
Yet the critics rate MP8 and Mario and Sonic an average of 6 and 7 and Gears and Assassins Creed score an 8 and a 9 on meta critic.
It's not that anyone one is better than the other or that the critics are right or wrong, they are completely different genres and opinions will varry because of that.
The gaming industry is still tied to the "hardcore" mindset when the casual market are the ones bringing all the new money into gaming right now.
Not much is even offered for 360 or PS3 in the form of mini games or "casual" games yet, although alot more are comming, so we have no clue how they would sell in the first place. They haven't make it to the HD consoles beyond a handful of games.
Although Viva Pinata sold well over a million copies outselling Kane and Lynch, Army of 2, and Devil May Cry 4... all good games but wait a casual game outsold them they all must be crap!
Thats stupid logic it's just a different audience that is buying it thats all, quality is all in the players own opinion.
Both arguments are stupid the casual gamers bashing the hardcore and hardcore bashing the casual, seems very few people enjoy both styles. Why anyone would care about something they have no intrest or knowledge of in the first place is beyond me, there is no reason to deffend opinion, but treating it as fact is pretty stupid.
