Good news for Wii owners, Treyarch has revealed the first details about the Wii version of the latest Call of Duty game, World at War, and from the sounds of things it's going to be brilliant.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com at the official unveiling of the game in London, the developer behind CoD3 revealed that the Wii version will use a ported version of the Modern Warfare engine and will support the Wii Zapper.

Senior producer Noah Heller said: "It's going to look better than any Wii game I've ever seen on the market."

The Wii version of World at War is being developed by a separate, "special" team at Treyarch, according to Heller. Like the 'next-gen' version, it will have a co-op mode and support multiplayer. According to Treyarch: "For all intents and purposes it's the same game."

Heller added: "This will easily the best shooter on the Wii." Looks like World at War is going to be going up against The Conduit for the title of 'most next-gen Wii game ever', when it's finally released.

Sounds promising although in the past the Wii has come across several "special" teams and the result was not always good. It sounds alright though, hopefully it does indeed play well.

Nintendo are creating a usb driven GPU/CPU acclerator, giving the wii 60fps capabilities, it ships with COD: WAW.

am i the only one noticing a flaw in this? Yes they mention multiplayer ,and co-op are there ,but they don't say if it's online ,or not.

I can't believe you guys actually believe them... You actually think they can actually do that? It's literally impossible, if it were true then developers could release Crysis for PC and have it look just as good for cheaper computers... But they can't, because it's impossible! Here's a comment of some guy on Kotaku that pretty much sums it up:

Maybe they should port the conduit elsewhere, lets see if it's great, I bet if the right money is thrown at them, they will consider it?

If the Conduit was made on another console I gaurantee it would fail horribly because the only people who are remotely interested are the people who only own a Wii because they are willing to settle for anything. While people who own a Wii and a 360/PS3 look at it and see nothing but a cheap rip off of other shooters.

I'm not looking forward to The Conduit or Call of Duty: World at War.

Why?

Because after [personally] being disappointed with Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 for the Wii, I have decided to give up with 3rd Party FPS titles on the Wii and save them for the 360. Obviously it seems as though the 360 is where the great FPS games are and always will be.

EDIT: T3kNi9e, you took the words out of my mouth. I remember saying a while ago that The Conduit looked like another dull PS2 arcade shooter.

Exactly what I do... Save your money for 1st party Wii games and get the 3rd party games on the 360 or PS3.

coop and multiplayer is good! Hope its online for multiplayer and local for coop! Curious about how the wii version looks and plays! Lets see if it will turn out the best fps!

wow, anytime a fps is announced for the wii, people just start criticizing it. well guess what: we will be buying the game with our own money, not you (gasp!) if it turns out bad, we will be affected, not you (gasp!)

with conduit they made a new engine for the wii with effects unseen on wii and people are saying it looks like a ps2 game. well guess what, they have more than enough time to polish it up.

with cod5 coming to wii with having almost the same features as 360/ps3 versions, fanboys are beginning to get jealous. not everyone owns all three consoles. we would rather play the gamnes on the wii (yes, thats possible!!!!!!!!)
