Redefining Animal Crossing

Now, most Nintendo fan's know Animal Crossing. The games have you live in a town full of walking talking animals, making friends with them, paying one greedy racoon all the bells you owe him (Only to be rewarded with moar bills D:<) and just living out your daily life.

The life simulation game has had a few releases now, two here and three in Japan I believe, and they've all been kept pretty much the same in both art style and things to do, it's worked great and has been good fun..but now its coming to the Wii and I say it's time for a change.

Now before you carry on, keep in mind these are just opinions, so if you don't share the same views feel free to say..but don't come out and say "thats well shite", be constructive!

Now for me, as long as they add random bits here and there into gameplay, I'm happy..for me I feel the artstyle is what we really need to change.

Sure Animal Crossing is known for its blocky cutesy look, its served the franchise well so far in its climb to fame, but now that the series is better known I think its time a bit more money was put in to set it apart from the others.

You all surely remember the Wind Waker, a beautiful game with a art style that matched the child Link perfectly..I honestly believe that this game would benifit from a simular artstyle.

Another simular idea could be to look at the fake screenshots somebody made of Earthbound Wii a while back, it looks great and I believe it would work great on Animal Crossing...

Now obviously I don't want a total change I just think that a more stylised approach would greatly add to the game and maybe even draw in a wider audience. Animal Crossing is a game that is a favorite amoung females too (I'm not trying to be stereotypical or anything, its just serveys and advertisments lead me to believe this) and I believe a more cute look like this will draw more in.

So what do you think? Any more ideas towards artstyle or gameplay? What do YOU want from the next Animal Crossing game?

actually, that mother pic is fake. believe me, i did some research. but it looks great dont it?
i like how AC looks, maybe it could play a bit different

Well I don't mind the style now but I think it if were to change to the Wind Waker look it would work and it'd work well.

Personally I'd like to see the mechanics of the game change, a friend should be able to buy a house in your town and stay there when your online together. I didn't play the DS one but the Wii version shouldn't have the same sort of loan thing the GameCube version did.

Really though I am happy with the GameCube version but decked out online as I love the series

Yeah that would be great..I think they mentioned trying that a while back so fingers crossed they end up going though with it!

Animal Crossing isn't casual. If you've ever played it, you know how addicting it can get. Plus, everyone wants to have an uber town with biggest house and all the stuff in the game.

Some report a while back said 2008..so hopefully E3 will shed some light.

I was thiking the exact same thing about AC having wind waker style graphics. it would be beautiful.

If the game had a higher player capacity on multiplayer, I could imagine clans starting in towns, like "families". I could also imagine Families fighting other families by chopping down trees in their town, and messing them up. This, combined with Windwaker graphics, would prove to be awesome.

I was listening to the IGN podcast and they said the Developer for the game is going to be at E3 and they are talking with him so it pretty much confirms a Wii version and it should be shown there.

I say its released in time for Christmas.
