Next nintendo gaming system

Is nintendo gonna make another gaming system and make the wii old news or just stick with the wii?

Look at the past video game systems.

Nintendo and MS are infamous of ditching their old shit behind. Sony's more of milking it until it's dead.

I'm sure when the next nintendo system comes out, the wii will probably only be used for those who care to keep it.
Depending on the next system, if it doesn't have the same controls and stuff, the wii might stay a valuable and fun and unique system and stay in the market for awhile.

Time will tell. This time it could easily go either way.

Firstly If the Playstation 2 is still selling then why shelve it? doesn't make any sense to me if a product is still generating income then I say Milk it.

Secondly two years time I think we Will see Nintendo unveil something about there next console I can't see the Wii hanging around for long. in a few years time the PS3 will be peaking in power graphically and the Wii Will pale in comparison.

We're probs get the Wii 2 HD edition we're all praying for lol

regardless of what happens, you just KNOW the next generation of consoles is going to be out of this world! what with the super increase of interest in networking and internet use and DLC and digital distribution and community contributed content etc... now that the companies see that there's a HUGE untapped market for these type of things and they are starting to see what they need to do to get in touch with the consumers on these types of features, the next generation is going to be ripe with interactivity, customization and online features. I can't wait.

I'm guessing that this will be the longest generation of consoles due to high sale numbers from all 3 major companies (Nintendo, Sony & Microsoft).

Maybe the next console from Nintendo will be released in mid. 2013.

The sales have been high so I could see all consoles going until 2011/2012 but I don't see them staying and selling well much longer. PS3 has good staying power but they really shouldn't let it stick around like the PS2 has, you need to sell your new unit and not your old one especially with the Blu-Ray player and what not.

Nintendo will make another console though and we have a thread already asking what it will be like in the WiiChat section so we might as well keep the discussion of this in that thread.
