I enjoy all the Mario party games. I think they're a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to a ninth enstallment. Maybe I'm just easy to please...

Here are a few reasons.

Developed by Hudson Soft and not NINTENDO

Didn't offer any innovation over the last iterations

Control is clunky and not very responsive.

The mini games are just pure shit and not fun at all and way to simple.
Not a good use of the Wiimote Sensor controls.

Two of the boards are linear and whoever gets to the end 1st gets the star.
Not your normal mario party board. It gets Repetitive.

No online play for a multiplayer game

oh and what makes it worse is you have to watch the computers turn if he gets a single mini game etc.
you cant skip over it.

what ever influenced the developers of Mario Party to go away from the traditional...random placing of toad/pay 20 coins and buy the star needs to be shot! i own 7, and i hadnt played a mario party game since number 3. yeah well, i very very very much regret buying mario party 7. it sucked, and i hated the ways to get the star on EVERY map. they need to make mario party 9 like the original mario party. with new boards, and new games. the original was EPIC!

The series has really taken a turn for the worse, but the 9th installment is inevitable as many have said.

Mario Party 1 and 3 were great games, they need to return to that winning formula.

I have to tell you I refused to buy Mario Party 8 even though it looked like it might be fun for my son as a family game simply because it did not support 16:9 which is just unacceptable in a modern game especially on a next gen console. I have seen screen shots of it converted into 4:3 mode.

I can live with the Wii only supporting 480p but there were games 3 + years ago that supported 16:9 on the PS2.
