From what we have seen so far, it appears that you can explore a town with online friends.

Go fishing together, catch bugs together etc.

If you set your Wii to Connect 24, your friends can visit your town when your Wii is in stand-by mode and you are not even playing the game!

Really enjoying this discussion . . . I don't know what possessed me to get AC for my DS but I was addicted to that game for the longest time. My husband thought it was hilarious that anytime he called me on the phone he could hear me catching bugs in the background. Even I can't explain what's so addictive about it.

I hope there are going to be a lot of features for offline play because my internet situation is grim. I imagine that catching bugs and fish will be a lot more physical on the Wii than on the DS! The wiimote action could open up a whole lot of interactive gameplay possibilities.

I like the Sims series too (I'm the sucker with every single Sims 2 EP and SP on my laptop). I have to admit MySims was a lot more limited than AC even though I was playing that on the Wii. So far MySims Kingdom looks like it might have more depth and won't get boring so fast. I'm still iffy on that one and waiting to see more reviews from players now that it's on store shelves. I'm not iffy at all on AC, I seriously can't wait to go fishing and look for new seashells! And bugs! And fossils! Yaaaaayy!!!

I read somewhere that when you initially set up AC for Wii it will ask you if you are moving from DS. If so it prompts you to turn on your DS and will import all items with the exception of your bells.

Does that mean if you have both DS and Wii version you can play you game wherever you are?

Your DS items will carry over to the Wii version. The wii version can't carry over to your DS, obviously. Is that what you were asking?

Yes, something like that! In fact, I was asking if it could be sync forth and back, but that does not seam possible.

I do not have AC DS, but I may have bought it if it was going to be that way. Would have been cool!

Actually, when you move your character to the Wii, you CAN put him on the DS and take him to another person's Wii.

Can you elaborate more what that mean for the kind of syncing I'm talking about?

I pre-ordered this about a week ago from Amazon. My account now tells me that it will ship on 11/21. I am not in a rush as this is a Christmas gift but I have to wonder why the delay.

They said that to me about the Wii Fit and Madden 09 (that one was for 360); gave me a shipping date way out in the future. Turned out, both shipped immediately and I had them the day after release. I think they sometimes hedge their bets and say it'll ship later, but they still try to ship ASAP.

2 nights ago (Friday 11/7) I ordered a couple of games and they gave me a scheduled ship date of 11/19. Today (Sunday 11/9) I got a shipping notification, should be here in a day or two!

Anyway, I've noticed this trend over the past year of them giving ship dates way out in the future, and then receiving the products immediately anyway. I'm sure that's not always the case, but a lot of the time it has been.

Can you only use it with your friends or is there going to be any kind of like Central Cafe in the game where you could talk to people and stuff.
