The 2008 version of this game was no good, the only parts that were alright were the controls and visuals. I reviewed the game (Cheap plug: check out the review in the review section

) and gave it a pretty low rating.
2009 comes around and oh how much better does it sound. The controls are improved and now you can control your own entrances (you might raise both the remote and nunchuck to throw your arms up and play the crowd, or you might gesture to the side to slap hands with the audience members). You can also play the heel and bat the crowd away and do signature entrance taunts like reaching up and removing your hat like the Undertaker does. Each wrestler has their own set of options and the prompts to perform the gestures are presented to you when your wrestler makes his/her way out to the ring.
Match types are improved with 40 match types this time around as opposed to the 5 match types last year. Fatal 4 Way, Hell In A Cell, Ladder Match, Table Match, TLC, Handicap, Steel-Cage, Backstage Brawls, ECW Extreme Rules etc. Each match uses the controls in different ways, raise your hands to grab the belt and lower them to pull it down in the ladder match, or take your opponents face and smear it along the cage in a Steel-Cage match.
Combine all this with 60 Superstars, Road To Wrestlemania (real story mode this time which features 6 distinct storylines, including tag team co-op) and Online Play!
So if your a fan of Wrestling or Wrestling games and only have Wii as your main console be sure to play this great Wrestling effort when its released in November.
