This ia a upcming release by EA Sports which is inspired by the punch out series (one of my favorites).

It is supposedly written for the Wii Ground up.

The game basically is boxing using the Wiimote and Nunchucks which is described as being over the top with big hits and big characters. This game is being released on the PS3/360 but was developed bya different group for the Wii with no porting at all.

I am hoping this turns out to be a great game. There are a lot of things I hate about EA but they look to be about the only third party company writing games exclusively for the Wii instead of just poting.

Oops, EA Posted NO ONLINE PLAY for the Wii with their typical excuse "They were too busy focusing on the controls"

That ok, I am going to be too busy focusing on games with online play to buy this.

It looks like Ready to Rumble on the PS2 to me but I was just writing what EA put in their Wii progodada.

This is a game I will buy if it is good even without the online play.

I just wish they would call it Facebreakers or Facebreakers KO and leave off the party part. Does every game have to have Party included on the Wii?

I'll pass on this one, I'll be getting the other boxing game from the makers of Fight night, my favorite boxing game franchise.

I will just have to wait and see the reviews.

However, Nintendo could not even get the motion controls right in boxing in Wii Sports so I have a hard time believing EA will get 1:1 swings. It might be a combo of swinging and pushing a button.

ea is the makers of fight night

i think ea probably needed to release a game before creating an online boxing game

this will probably help them create fight night as well.

ea would put time between the release of two boxing games so who knows when fight night will be released.

this game might have a lot of similarities as fight night either way.

I acutally think this is the type of game that could be fun without online play assuming that get the controls nailed.

However, I just dont want to hear the excuse that they were too busy working on the controls to include online play.

Online play isnt the norm on Wii games and companies will not include online if they do not have to.

I am hoping the success of Mario Kart, SSBB, and hopefully Madden 09 will star to turn the tide. Once people get a taste of online play, it is hard to buy a full priced game that has online play for the other consoles but not the Wii. This is not about a limitation int he Wii. This is about developers being lazy and Nintendo choosing a cruddy format for online communications.

From their sales you would think they would learn by now.

My only concern at this point is that this is three games in a row now that EA Sports has CLAIMS it was built from the ground up for the Wii. They have emphazied that heavily on Tiger Woods 2009, Madden 2009, and now Facebreakers.

Madden 2007 was ported from the PS2 but made by a different team in Canda. Madden 08 was just an upgrade of that with family play mode, more party games, and Online play. However, the 08 had a ton of bugs and the oline play was useless IMO. It made the 2007 the better version yet Madden still gets 8.5 at IGN who runs a feature a day about how great EA Is.

I am concerned about how much is real and how much is hype. I dont believe for a second that Madden 09 was built for the ground up for the Wii. However, it does sound like a huge improvement from everything read and the previews. The 5 on 5 mode sounds great too,

I am not going to get too high or too low about an EA product until I see plenty of reviews. They build up hype and try to sell a ton of games before people have read unbiased reviews about their games.

It could be worse, the PS3 versions of have had the most glitcies and worst bugs by far.
