its not that i dont have money to buy 360/ps3 but i like fpss and with dual analogues, i suck completely. having played pc fps, i find the wii control scheme to be similar to pc. unfortunately, there arent many fps on wii as i and many had hoped before the launch of the console. also, the nintedo 1st party games are masterpieces. theat another reason to own the wii.

Anyways, I said from the beginning, this is a must-own title for every Wii owner for sure, I'm just saying that this is what we all expected from Day 1, and it's coming in pretty damn late. Many core gamers are abandoning their Wiis, and I don't think ONE game (which would rate pretty LOW on another console, the only thing it's got going for it is it's a Shooter on the WII, and the control scheme) can save the entire console.

It's just what we've been deprived of from Day 1.

I don't see why this would rate low on another console though to be honest. Yeah the other consoles have a bunch of shooters but if this studio wanted to do something big and different for the 360/PS3 I'm sure they would. Plus the hardware would be better so the visuals would be better and the online etc. so I don't think it would rate LOW on another console.

It has more going for it than just a FPS on Wii and control scheme (although I'm glad people finally started to acknowledge whats being done with the controls). The Conduit has great controls, is a FPS experience on Wii, it features different online modes and voice communication and has some of the best visuals on Wii (will be great come time for release).

On Day 1 no one said the Wii would be a console for mature games and shooters. On Day 1 no developer wanted to take a chance/risk on Wii and wrote Wii off completely from the start. 2 years later the damn thing continues to sell fast and developers have realized their mistakes. High Voltage Studios stepped up and made a game they as Wii owners wanted on the console, its only a matter of time before theres more games Wii owners want (from third parties).

I think this game will be great or at least different from Halo/COD b/c of the motion controls. If they aren't unique enough then you're prob right.

really, so that was some otehr zerolazar that was saying that all teh 360/ps3 shooters run at 60 fps? oh i see. i mean first people complauin that no mature games for wii and now that they get one, they still complain. go play your 360/ps3 guys.

I'm not complaining about anything, you keep misinterpreting what I say. I'm glad the Conduit is coming. I'm just saying that alot of Wii owners are disappointed in the lack of games like this, and if Conduit is the only game to come out like this, then it won't save the Wii. One good mature title is not enough to keep a system for. That's all I'm saying. I hope more good comes out of the Conduit and third party developers take notice of it's (hopeful) success.

All we can do is wait and see.

Sorry but this is getting a little silly, The Conduit isn't going to be the Wii's saviour nor does Wii need a saviour. Its a game that will move units due to peoples prior frustration and it will only improve Wii sales not save them. Third party support is getting better both with the visuals and content, and this game mixed with those other titles will interest Wii owners.

You just keep saying the same things, downplaying the game and now the system like it needs big help or something? Seriously core gamers leaving Nintendo in the dust isn't a big deal to them, they're smarter than that. Core gamers won't leave though and really have no reason to. The Conduit will sell well because of people's interest, the care put into the game, improved visuals and great controls and a developer that cares to see better games on Wii. I really hate repeating myself just as much as I hate seeing something repeated, and its starting to head into repetition with you. This game would sell well on PS3/360 because of the improved hardware and if High Voltage Studios set out to do on the 360/PS3 what they've done with the Wii, and make a great title and game that would stand out.

Also I don't think The Conduit is mature, teen is the rating I've heard several times. Mature titles don't make a game either...

Anyways, I'm not downplaying the game, I'm saying if released AS IT IS on another console, it wouldn't raise an eyebrow.

Listen, I'm not downplaying the game or the console. The game looks great and I'm buying it for sure. I'm just saying this is the third party support we should have been getting from the start, but since we didn't, let's hope third parties recognize the Wii's potential and get their asses working, because many Core gamers are still unsatisfied with the Wii. Hopefully this game will be a staple to the Wii's future success in the eyes of core gamers. Yes, the Wii is a success in the market. That doesn't make it the best console, or the most enjoyable(depending on your gamer type). Don't take that statement as me downplaying the Wii, either, as I love my Wii and I love the potential it has locked away in it's tiny white case.

Let's all hope that more core games will come out.

Released as is wouldn't raise an eyebrow on Wii either, although some might raise the WTF brow because of how early in development the game is. If it was released on other consoles the same time it would be on Wii it would still do decently because of the better hardware those systems have (good visuals, online etc.) as well as the developer taking to their time to change things on 360/PS3 that those owners weren't used to like they are with Wii.

We should have been getting the support from the start, your right. But we didn't because many felt it was a novelty, now people have released their mistakes and are taking their time and putting effort into Wii games now. Theres plenty for the core gamer to be excited about from the third party side, its 1st party that is really lacking at the moment. When I said Wii was successful I didn't say it was the best console or most enjoyable. But look what its done with little to no support, and take into consideration what this game will do for Wii owners. Again people are excited for this game, great visuals, controls etc. I've said it countless times.

That statement might not be downplaying the system, but your failing to see the other third party titles and theres an abundance of them. This game doesn't need to save the Wii from anything, the Wii is fine where it is. Nintendo could cater to just the casual and not even think of Mario or Zelda but they still do that and do both areas well, core gamers won't leave Nintendo has a certain aroma that keeps them there.

Again more core games are coming besides The Conduit, and really we should just stop this discussion here. Yeah I don't know how the game plays but it just has so much going for it and it will really excite Wii owners its hard to fail even with loads of hype. We can go on and on about this all we want but at the end of the day the facts are there. Wii is lacking in FPS games, games with good visuals, online play etc. its just really going to be a great game.

Alright I'm with you CantgetAWii, let's continue talking about the game.

One thing before that, purely out of curiousity... what other third party games are announced that cater to the core gamer? Right now I don't know of any, and it'd excite me to know of some :P. So far all I'm looking forward to is The Conduit (If it lives up to the hype, which I think it will), CoD5 -if- The Conduit fails (I'll pick it up for PS3 if it doesn't), and Pikmin 3 (I hope to God they didn't change this to casual...).

I hope they revert back to Core for Zelda, or at the very least a difficulty setting :P. Anyways enough about that..

Will The Conduit have friend codes? I forgot.. :P

Oh, another thing.. The Conduit looks pretty good for a Wii game, even in this development stage.. what's everyone going on about?

Core gamer is a mis-used term in my opinion but, for me, I can't wait for Tenchu 4 and the force unleashed. the other star wars based off of the new movie doesn't look bad either.

as cantgetawii mentioned, this will most likely be rrated T, i agree as it will sell more units that way and its not "kiddy" enough so t hat little kids can buy it and its not rated M so people who are 14, 15 or 16 year old can buy it.

EDIT: after watching the gamelpay vids from gametrailers, ihave to say that music needs some work for example the slug gun sounds muffled. also when enemies die, it looks weird. they need to have ragdoll IMO. did anyone notice that the MK deatomizer sounds like samuss charge beam?

and afetr seein that boss ballte i am reminded of something:

Dead rising sucked on the 360... and they're making it suck even harder for Wii.. I'll pass.

CoD will -most likely- be better on the other consoles because of the physics, depending on how much effort they put into the Wii version. There's an 80% chance I'm going to pick it up on a different console instead, just because I'd have The Conduit.

The other titles - I can't really say. :P
